Job summary

Accede Solutions Inc in Carlsbad, CA seeks a Senior Technician for Manufacturing Operations on a contract of 11+ months. The role focuses on prepregs, layup, and composite processing across aerospace, automotive, and defence-related programs, with in-house testing and RF modelling capabilities.

You will lead technicians, ensure process compliance, maintain quality control, and drive safety while meeting customer specifications and production schedules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications in composites manufacturing preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with prepregs, wet layup and vacuum resin infusion techniques.
• Familiarity with aerospace/defence standards and quality systems (AS9100/NADCAP) desirable.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and process documentation.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.

Responsibilities

• Perform prepreg layups according to detailed work instructions, engineering drawings, and manufacturing specifications.
• Prepare molds, tooling, and work surfaces for composite layup, ensuring cleanliness and proper release application.
• Accurately measure, mix, and apply resins, hardeners, and other materials following strict process parameters.
• Set up and operate vacuum bagging equipment, ensuring correct pressure, sealing, and leak detection prior to cure.
• Trim, drill, and finish composite parts using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
• Seal, prime and paint composite parts with high-quality results.
• Conduct in-process and final inspections to verify conformance to specifications.
• Operate autoclaves and ovens safely.
• Lead a team of technicians to ensure parts are manufactured correctly and efficiently to meet the customer's requirements.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area, following all safety and environmental guidelines.
• Document work performed, including material traceability, process steps, and quality control data.

• The Client's Products in Carlsbad are designed and manufactured absorbing materials, electrically conductive elastomers, and Maxair vent panels.
• The primary markets served are Aerospace, Automotive and Defence-related industries.
• Includes state-of-the-art testing, measurement, and engineering capabilities.
• From rigorous mechanical testing and advanced materials and particle research to RF modelling, the facility offers all the tools in-house to develop precise, high-performance electromagnetic solutions.
• Additionally, the products leverages the full network of the facilities and experts to develop innovative customer solutions.

Responsibilities:

Your key responsibilities will be/what you'll do:

Requirements:

Must be a U.S. citizen.

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications in composites manufacturing preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with prepregs, wet layup and vacuum resin infusion techniques.
• Familiarity with aerospace and/or defence manufacturing standards and quality systems (e.g., AS9100, NADCAP) is highly desirable.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and process documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a standing position for extended periods.
• Process and continuous improvement experience are highly desirable (Six Sigma Green or Black belt is desirable)
• Experience with composite repair techniques.
• Knowledge of autoclave and oven cure processes.
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools (callipers, micrometers, gauges).
• Previous experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
