Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Camden, Arkansas is seeking a Manufacturing Technician to join our skilled shop floor. You will set up and operate lathes, milling machines, and precision grinders to produce parts to tight tolerances under supervision.

You will read engineering drawings, inspect parts, document usage, and collaborate with machinists to maintain quality and schedule. A high school diploma and hands-on machining experience are required; several years is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 4+ years of related experience.
• Trade school certification or state-licensed Journeyman Machinist strongly preferred.

• In-process inspection of finished parts.

Job Description:

L3Harris Technologies Company is seeking a Manufacturing Technician to join our growing facility in Camden, Arkansas.

The Manufacturing Technician will join an exceptional cross-functional team of machinists. The position sets up and operates a variety of machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, precision grinders, and other equipment, to produce parts, mechanisms, tools, or machines to exact tolerances and dimensions

Works under close supervision and receives detailed instructions, the Manufacturing Technician B performs routine and repetitive duties within the manufacturing operations area. Apply general manufacturing knowledge to basic problems to come up with logical answers.

Essential Functions:

• Interpret blueprints, sketches and engineering specifications to determine the sequence of operations, required number of cuts, and appropriate setup and arrangements.
• Use variety of machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments; perform shop computations; and assemble precision parts.
• Fabricate piece parts per work instructions, drawings, and specifications using required machine tools.
• Inspect piece parts in accordance with work instructions and drawing requirements.
• Set up and operate machine tools.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Use, adjust, clean and properly store tools, machinery and equipment.
• Maintain records and reports relayed to equipment usage.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance is not required.

Qualifications:

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Trade school certification or state-licensed Journeyman Machinistcertification strongly preferred.
• Manual machining experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of setting up and operating milling machines andlathes.
• Working knowledge of engineering drawings, blueprints, productionplans, and work instructions.
• Working knowledge of performing in-process inspection of finishedparts using appropriate inspection and gauging equipment.
• Knowledge of industry-applicable laws, codes, ordinances, andregulations.
• Knowledge of machine tools and equipment, machine shop proceduresand practices, and machining principles and properties.
• Proficiency in basic mathematical principles used to solve machining-related problems.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact withemployees at all levels.
