We are seeking an accomplished Manufacturing Team Lead to join our DUV Manufacturing organization in San Diego, CA.

This is a hands-on working leadership role that combines direct manufacturing responsibilities with team leadership. You will actively participate in daily manufacturing operations while leading a team of highly skilled assemblers and test technicians.

As the 2nd Shift Manufacturing Team Lead, you will provide technical guidance, coordinate daily production activities, support problem resolution, and help ensure the safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of production plans. Success in this role requires someone who is comfortable working directly alongside the team while also providing leadership, coaching, development, and day-to-day operational direction.

Role and Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

• Independently supervises the work of approximately 5–9 direct reports, providing day-to-day direction, coaching, and development.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of assemblers and test technicians in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Foster a culture of safety, accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
• Drive employee engagement and promote a positive, collaborative team environment.
• Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure efficient and effective operation of the work center.
• Ensure personnel are appropriately trained and certified on required processes, procedures, and work instructions.
• Provide daily direction and prioritize team resources to meet changing production demands.

Manufacturing Operations

• Serve as a hands-on working leader, actively participating in assembly, test, troubleshooting, and production support activities while leading daily operations.
• Lead day-to-day production activities to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
• Maintain and coordinate daily build and test assignments to ensure production schedules and delivery commitments are achieved.
• Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Production leadership to resolve technical and operational challenges.
• Ensure compliance with documented manufacturing processes and quality standards through regular audits and observation.
• Support engineering change order implementation and process improvements.
• Monitor material availability, maintain positive material flow, and escalation shortages or supply constraints as required.
• May assist the Production Manager in analyzing MRP data and identifying capacity constraints related to forecasted demand.

Continuous Improvement

• Champion Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives within the work center.
• Drive efficiency improvements through the use of 5S+1, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and other operational excellence methodologies.
• Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to improve throughput, quality, and productivity.
• Participate in waste reduction and process optimization initiatives.
• Promote a culture of learning, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Additional Responsibilities

• Maintain periodic oversight of the Reclaim work center (<10% of time) to ensure safe execution of work, provide leadership support, and drive resolution of critical operational challenges.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and experience

• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
• 4+ years of relevant manufacturing, production, or operations experience preferred.
• Prior experience leading teams, projects, or manufacturing work centers preferred.
• Experience in a hands‑on manufacturing, assembly, or test environment strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing concepts and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Shift Schedule:

2nd Shift: Monday through Friday, 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM

Flexibility to work overtime based on business needs may be required.

• This position is located on-site in San Diego, CA.
• Assigned work area is within an ESD-sensitive manufacturing and laboratory environment.
• Must be willing to work in a lab environment while wearing required PPE, including a smock, safety glasses, gloves, and safety shoes throughout the shift.
• While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach, bend, kneel, crouch, stretch, and use hands for assembly and computer-based tasks.
• Employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to work effectively under deadlines and changing priorities.
• May require minimal domestic travel for training and development opportunities.
• Environment is generally moderate in temperature with a moderate noise level.

The current base annual hourly range for this role is currently:

$31-42

Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.

Employees are able to participate in the Company’s 401k plan. Employees will also receive eight (8) hours of vacation leave every month and (13) paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
