Job summary

Accounting Search is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a state-of-the-art facility that builds architectural wood doors. You will report to the Automation Engineering Manager and work closely with Production, Continuous Improvement, Maintenance and Engineering to drive day-to-day performance.

The role emphasizes on-floor presence, practical problem solving, and improvements that meet KPIs. Relocation is offered for strong candidates in a business-casual environment.

Qualifications

• Be responsible for solving hands-on manufacturing problems to improve day-to-day operations.
• Strong process improvement skills to help meet KPIs.
• Develop practical solutions and ensure improvements are implemented and sustained.
• Maintain a strong presence on the manufacturing floor and work with operators and leadership.
• Prior project management experience, start to finish, is highly desirable.

What you will be doing:

• Be responsible for solving hands-on manufacturing problems to help improve the day-to-day performance of manufacturing operations while working closely with Production, Continuous Improvement, Maintenance, and Engineering.
• Strong process improvement skills that help meet KPIs
• Develop practical solutions, and ensure improvements are successfully implemented and sustained. This will involve challenging existing methods, influencing change, and drive teams from problem identification through execution and follow-up.
• Maintain a strong presence on the manufacturing floor and work directly with operators, supervisors, and department leadership to understand and resolve day-to-day process issues.
• Serve as an escalation resource for manufacturing problems requiring deeper process analysis and technical problem solving after initial Production or Maintenance response.
• Coordinate efforts to plan, design, develop and validate manufacturing processes and improvements to existing processes.
• Improve Processes and Eliminate Waste in Key Constraint Areas
• Improve Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Delivery in assigned areas
• Develop and drive metrics in conjunction with Production Teams

What they are looking for:

• Associate degree Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering is required
• 3+ years’ experience as a Manufacturing Engineering in a custom assembly operation
• Must be a self-starter who can work independently and, on a team
• Prior project management experience, start to finish, is highly desirable
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with all levels of staff
