Job summary

Schneider Electric is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor in Fairfield to drive production schedules, cost efficiency, and lead time targets while leading a skilled team on a weekend shift. You will train staff, champion process improvements, and manage performance and safety in a dynamic manufacturing setting.

The role reports to the Plant Manager and requires lean experience, SAP knowledge, and strong communication. Eligible for comprehensive benefits and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 3+ years’ experience with manufacturing processes and systems.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience leading a sizable team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Experience with ERP systems; SAP preferred.
  • Project management skills preferred.

  • Production Schedule Achievement: Ensure attainment of production schedules while managing costs, quality, and lead times.
  • Team Training: Organize and address training needs to uplift team skills.
  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve industrial processes.
  • People Management: Set goals, develop competencies, recognize performance, and manage timekeeping and disciplinary actions.
  • Safety Focus: Promote a safety-first culture and compliant work environment.
  • Group Performance Ownership: Lead the team to achieve group performance goals.

We are seeking a dedicated Manufacturing Supervisor to join our Fairfield team and play a pivotal role in achieving production schedules aligned with cost, quality, and lead time objectives. If you possess a strong foundation in manufacturing processes, team leadership, and process improvement, we invite you to apply and make a significant impact on our operations.

Weekend Shift: Friday – Sunday, 5:00 AM to 5:30 PM; Some Thursday hours to make Full-time Schedule OT as needed.

What will you do?
  • Production Schedule Achievement: Ensure the successful attainment of production schedules while maintaining focus on cost efficiency, quality standards, and lead time targets.
  • Team Training: Organize and address the training needs of teams to enhance their skills and knowledge, fostering a continuous learning environment.
  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to contribute to the enhancement of industrial processes, leveraging your expertise to drive improvements and efficiencies.
  • People Management: Take ownership of people management, including goal setting, competency development, recognition and engagement, daily time‑keeping, performance and disciplinary management.
  • Safety Focus: Cultivate a safety‑first attitude among all employees, promoting a secure and compliant work environment.
  • Group Performance Ownership: Assume responsibility for the achievement of group performance goals and objectives, guiding your team towards success.

What qualifications will make you successful?
  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's Degree preferred, not required. Equivalent experience and skills can be substituted for education.
  • Manufacturing Expertise: 3+ years of experience working with manufacturing processes and systems.
  • Lean Principles: Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
  • Supervisory Experience: 2+ years of manufacturing leadership experience (leading a sizable team).
  • Communication Skills: Exhibit excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Problem‑Solving: Display strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • ERP system knowledge, SAP preferred.
  • Project management skills preferred.

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 86,400 - USD 129,600 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives.
