Job summary

LIGHTERA in Norcross, GA is seeking a Production Supervisor to manage daily manufacturing activities, meet daily delivery schedules, ensure quality, and maintain a safe, productive environment. You will supervise manufacturing personnel across all facets of production and use data to drive continuous improvement.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in engineering or manufacturing management (MBA a plus) and 5+ years in manufacturing, with Six-Sigma and Lean certification a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or manufacturing management required; MBA a plus.
• Demonstrated leadership in progressive roles; 5+ years in a manufacturing environment.
• Six-sigma Green/Black Belt Certification and Lean Certification a plus; SAP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule personnel to maximize daily labor cost in line with production schedules.
• Own overtime planning, PTO, and training needs scheduling.
• Ensure machines operate efficiently within guidelines and KPIs are met (scrap, FPY, OEE, OTD).
• Lead TPM, 6S audits and standard work on schedule.
• Coordinate with Planning, Procurement, Process Engineering, Maintenance and QA to support production demands and customer needs.

JOB PURPOSE:

The Production Supervisoris responsible forall daily manufacturingactivities inclusiveofmeeting daily delivery schedules, ensuring acceptablequalityandmaintaininga safe and positive work environment.Supervises the activities of manufacturing personnel engaged in allfacetsof the manufacturing function. Familiar with a variety of thefield'sconcepts, practices, and procedures. Rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan andaccomplishgoals.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or manufacturing management required,MBA a plus

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• Six-sigma Green/Black Belt Certification and Lean Certification a plus

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Scheduling personnel to ensure maximization of daily labor costsin accordance withall production scheduling requirements.
• Solely responsible for the scheduling of overtime, Paid TimeOffand planning for training needs.
• Ensuring that all scheduled machines areoperatedefficiently and within all specified guidelines.
• At a minimum, ensuring all critical Key Process Indicators (KPIs) are met.For example, scrap and remake reduction targets, safety,FPY,OEEandOTD.
• Ensure that all daily,weeklyand monthlyTPM, 6S Audits and Standard work are fulfilled on time and as expected.
• Maintaining a consistent state of rigor and discipline coupled with unquestionable fairness and consistency.
• Ensuring that related company and plant policies and procedures arefollowed andexhibitingfair and consistent behaviorrelativeto taking disciplinary measures when necessary.
• Responsible for communicating / coordinating with other Production Supervisors, Planning, Procurement, Process Engineering, Maintenance and Quality to ensure production demands arefully supported, and delivery expectations are met in an efficient andcost-effectivemanner.Additionally,willbe fully responsible for upholding the voice of the customer andsupportfull compliance with allTL9000and ISO manufacturing and safety requirements.
• Fullydisclosesallproblems,issuesand concernsregardingpriorities with thepreviousand incomingshiftSupervisors as well as Operations Manager.Daily shift and cell communication with Leads andshiftAssociates.Communicate issues and concerns with Material Management, Process Engineering, QA, Maintenance and Safety. Responsible for value-added sharing at daily shift and plantestablishedmeetings.
• Ensure (directly and via Leads) that all scheduledequipment is in acceptable operational condition prior to the manufacture of any product andreportsall non-compliances to Maintenance Management.Subsequently wewill ensure that staffing and machine assignments are reflective of trained personnel.
• Assists Leads and Associates with diagnosis and correction of machine, product, and paperwork problems.Guides andmaintainsfull responsibility for all operational decisions; ensures maintenance work orders are writtenin a timely mannerand provides follow-up to ensure expectations are met.Leads the notification of Operations Manager, Maintenance, and Engineering when equipment, process, or production problems cannot be corrected by the manufacturing team.
• Conducts immediate root cause analyses when non-conformances occur using the 8-Step and 5-Whys corrective action methodologies.Preparing detailed analysisindicatinghow and why issues (non-conformances, accidents, breakdowns) occurred and what will be done to prevent future reoccurrence.
• Reviews and prepares safety reports coupled with immediate phone notification to management (EH&S, Operations,GMand HR) whenever accidents occur.Issue disciplinary action whendeemednecessary per company and plant policies.Completes weekly E-Time prior to Sundays at11pm.Completes andsubmitsall shift performance reports to Operations Manager.Responsible for guaranteeing full review (cell meetings) and acknowledgement of procedural and material changes.Supports the needs of the end of themonthinventory needs.
• Must be willing to develop Leads and Operators to grow to the nextstep andshow active behavior supporting this effort quarterly.Clear understanding that shift hours whileestablishedmay not be the normrelativeto attendance.Supervisors are expected to fulfill their duties completelydailywhich oftentimes willwarrantworking beyond an 8-9 day.Additionally, each supervisor can be expected to berequiredto be in attendance on scheduled weekends whendeemednecessary
