Job summary

Baxter Healthcare in Puerto Rico is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor to lead a production team and meet daily Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People objectives.

You will collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Planning, and EHS to ensure efficient and compliant operations. The role emphasizes coaching, staffing, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience managing production schedules and production teams.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily manufacturing activities and execute the production plan.
  • Manage staffing, attendance, and manpower allocation based on production needs.
  • Ensure materials, equipment, documentation, and trained personnel are available before production starts.
  • Lead, train, coach, and develop team members while supporting cross-training initiatives.
  • Coordinate setups, PM activities, validations, startups, and equipment changeovers.
  • Ensure compliance with SOPs, quality standards, process parameters, and safety requirements.
  • Monitor KPIs, including Safety, Quality, Production vs. Plan, OEE, Downtime, Scrap, Productivity, and On-Time Delivery.
  • Investigate production issues, lead root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
  • Conduct Gemba walks to identify and resolve production barriers.
  • Ensure accurate manufacturing documentation and effective shift-to-shift communication.
  • Promote a Zero-Harm culture and compliance with EHS and 6S requirements.

Your Team

What You'll Bring
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or a related field preferred.

  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing operations, quality systems, and continuous improvement tools.
  • Experience with KPI management and problem-solving methodologies such as 5 Whys and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and decision‑making abilities.
  • Proficiency with manufacturing systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
