Klein Tools is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor (Packaging) to lead the packaging team in Mansfield, TX. You will ensure continuous production, organize work, and drive on-time delivery while maintaining safety and quality standards.

You will schedule daily workloads, train staff, monitor performance, and coordinate with maintenance to troubleshoot equipment. This role requires strong leadership and hands-on problem solving in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Operations and Logistics or related field with one year of relevant work experience required.
  • Experience working in a distribution or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience AS400 and Shop Floor System, Boss and Warehouse Management System preferred.
  • Must be able to operate a Class II Order Picker and Class II Stand-Up Forklift, Pallet Jack, Label Printing System, RF Sealer, and Staple Gun.

  • Review and send Packer III daily schedule to build job folders and print labels.
  • Maintain work instructions and determine workflow for packaging operations.

Job description

The Manufacturing Supervisor (Packaging) works under general direction of the Packaging Manager. This position is responsible for ensuring continuous production and delivery of products for the packaging department by supervising and coordinating the activities of the Packaging department, including but not limited to, assigning duties, training, prioritizing, enforcing proper policies and procedures, and resolving issues.

  • Prepare and adjust department work schedules daily based on production plan and inventory needs.
  • Review and send Packer III daily schedule in order to build job folders for packaging staff and create and print labels in the label system as needed to prepare workstations.
  • Maintain work instructions/procedures and determine workflow for packaging operations to ensure employees meet packaging and efficiency standards.
  • Provide on-the-job training and mentor team members in order to create a safe and productive work environment.
  • Enter production data from each employee into the Shop Floor System in order to accurately record department performance and send a daily report to the Packaging Manager to provide an update of daily activities and any issues encountered.
  • Make employment recommendations on hiring, promotion, transfers, training and development, disciplinary action, terminations and pay adjustments; monitor performance by completing new hire and annual performance evaluations.
  • Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and work with maintenance to troubleshoot and repair more extensive machinery issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective solutions.
  • Drive a proactive approach to Safety Management through education and reinforcement. Ensure that proper safety methods are used in the department. Ensure team maintains an orderly and clean department.
  • Comprehend and administer all Company policies and procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or internal communications from management team.
  • May operate Pallet Jack and Forklift to move product around the department as necessary.
  • Perform daily safety inspections of packaging equipment and ensure staff meets all safety requirements.
  • Re-allocate labor from one department to another in order to support business demand throughout the facility.
  • May perform the duties of subordinates as needed to meet packaging production deadlines.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Operations and Logistics or related field with one year of relevant work experience required. Experience working in a distribution or manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Must be able to operate a Class II Order Picker and Class II Stand-Up Forklift, Pallet Jack, Label Printing System, RF Sealer, and Staple Gun.
  • Strong leadership skills combined with the ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with people, projects and issues.
  • Ability to handle multiple functions.
  • Willingness to become a certified First Responder and respond to emergencies (including after hours) is required.
Physical Demand Requirements

Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, and lift; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; The employee is occasionally required to sit, reach above shoulders, climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
