Job summary

Clarios is seeking a Production Supervisor for our Oconee, SC components plant in West Union. You will plan, direct and control manufacturing activities in plastic injection molding to meet safety, quality and productivity goals.

This onsite role requires strong leadership and a track record of lean manufacturing improvements. You will monitor daily KPIs, manage staffing, provide coaching, ensure safety training, and drive continuous improvement initiatives with a focus on reducing waste and

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is required for external candidates.
  • Engineering, Business, or Operations background preferred.
  • 1+ years of leadership in manufacturing, preferably in plastic injection molding.

Responsibilities

  • Assign work to meet daily manufacturing requirements and control labor/material usage.
  • Report daily KPI indicators (production, scrap, safety, quality).
  • Take action to improve productivity, quality, and methods.
  • Ensure safety training and requirements are met for all personnel.
  • Train production personnel to perform work safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain and coach on employee relations and training records.
  • Review and coach employees to meet plant goals.
  • Administer production salary/wage policy for operating personnel.
  • Maintain health, environmental, and safety standards and housekeeping policies.
  • Arrange for maintenance and improve OEE; investigate variances and propose improvements.
  • Encourage process and equipment improvements from team members.

Job description

What you will do

Under general direction and in conformance with plant policies, procedures and objectives, the Production Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that production requirements are met (Safety, Quality, Productivity), and continuously improved through application of lean manufacturing processes.

Ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained, employee relations are good, and a safe/clean work environment is maintained.

You will plan, direct, coordinate and control manufacturing activities in an assigned work area involving plastic injection molding operations to achieve established management goals. This is onsite 5 days a week.

How you will do it
  • Assign work to meet daily manufacturing requirements and control labor and material usage to meet or improve standard costs
  • Report daily KPI indicators, including production, scrap, safety, and quality
  • Take action to improve productivity and quality, job methods and procedures
  • Ensure all safety training and requirements are met for all personnel in assigned area
  • Train production personnel to perform work assignments safely and efficiently
  • Maintain good employee relations through coaching and consistent application of employee relation policies
  • Maintain accurate database information regarding employee training and certification
  • Review and coach employees in accordance with the plant goals
  • Administer production salary/wage policy for operating personnel properly
  • Administer and enforce health, environmental and safety standards, work practices and housekeeping policies and procedures
  • Arrange for proper maintenance of machines and equipment and provide solutions to improve OEE
  • Investigate material variances, report results of investigation and recommend improvements
  • Solicit and encourage process, procedure and equipment improvements from team members
  • Familiarize personnel with Company rules and regulations
  • Prepare necessary reports
  • Overtime is required to meet internal and external customer requirements
  • Performs other duties as assigned
What we look for
  • Required Bachelor’s Degree for external candidates is required.
  • Engineering, Business, or Operations preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred for internal candidates, but equivalent education and experience will be considered.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present clear and concise information to varied levels within the organization.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and Outlook preferred.
  • Ability to learn various technical programs including MS Office required.
  • Preferred 1+ years of experience leading a team in manufacturing, preferably in plastic injection molding.
