Job summary

Legrand is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor (2nd Shift) to oversee the Cablofil team in Mascoutah, IL. You will supervise logistics operations, train staff, assign work, and ensure on-time shipping while meeting productivity and safety standards.

Responsibilities include staffing, performance management, quality leadership, and driving cross-training and continuous improvement in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • BS preferred or equivalent education/experience.
  • Minimum two years in manufacturing and leading others.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Determine staffing requirements based on order volume and schedule shift coverage.
  • Lead supervisory responsibilities per company policies and laws.
  • Establish and maintain employee performance standards with timely feedback.
  • Provide leadership for quality within the group.
  • Promote cross training and continuous improvement.
  • Plan, schedule, and control resources to meet standards (attainment, labor variance, scrap, inventory).
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment and provide safety training.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Supervisor (2nd Shift) to join the Electrical Wiring Systems Cablofil Team in Mascoutah, IL. The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for direct supervision of all logistics operations in assigned department(s), flow line(s), cell(s) or area(s), and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Ensures customers requested shipping delivery dates are met on time.

2nd Shift hours: Monday thru Friday from 3:00 PM CDT - 11:00 PM CDT.


  • Determines staffing requirements based on the order volume. Handles scheduling shift coverage.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Establishes and maintains employee performance standards. Provides ongoing, timely feedback and periodic formal performance evaluations, per company guidelines.
  • Provide leadership for quality within the group.
  • Promote cross training and continuous improvement for all employees to:
    • Provide a greater depth of knowledge.
    • Create more flexibility on all levels of the logistics process.
  • Accountable for meeting logistics plan, and in doing so, plan and control the efficient use of manpower, machines and other resources to meet and continuously improve upon established standards.

Education
  • BS preferred, or equivalent education and experience.
Experience
  • Minimum two years in a manufacturing environment and effectively leading others.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
  • Must have strong leadership skills, with demonstrated ability to supervise others. Provide guidance, development and motivation to staff to achieve superior results and accomplish overall business objectives.
  • Requires strong organizational and time management skills and be able to effectively handle multiple priorities. Ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment is a must. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, organize and accomplish a diversified workload.
  • Basic computer skills, working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and email software.
  • Must be highly collaborative and able to work in a team-based environment. Must foster open communication and support an environment of innovation and creative change.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills and be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
