Job summary

Klein Tools is hiring a Manufacturing Supervisor to supervise daily cell operations, drive lean initiatives, and coach staff toward safety, quality, and on-time delivery. The role reports to the Manager and collaborates with Operations and Supply Chain in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

They require a High School Diploma with 3 years’ experience (Bachelor’s preferred), Lean knowledge, strong leadership, and proficient MS Office usage.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma and three years of relevant work experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred; manufacturing experience beneficial.
  • Lean tools knowledge (6S, Kaizen), OSHA, DEQ, and EPA regulations; ISO/QS/TS quality systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Production Reporting systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership, confidentiality, and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and comprehend English in work-related documents.
  • 1st Shift - Monday - Thursday, 5am - 3:30pm

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, plan, and direct daily cell operations to ensure production and on-time delivery.
  • Coach and mentor staff; ensure safety and quality; lead lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Coordinate work groups, schedule machines, manage OEE and takt time.
  • Record performance data and report to Manager.
  • Train team members on equipment, processes, safety rules.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain to maintain materials and services.
  • Assist in hiring, promotions, and performance reviews; budgeting support.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and housekeeping.
  • Participate in lean activities to reduce waste.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Manufacturing Supervisor will supervise, plan, and direct daily cell operations of to ensure continuous production and delivery of products consistent with customer requirements and established departmental, plant, and company goals. This position will coach and mentor staff, oversee safety of team members, ensure quality standards are met, and lead various lean manufacturing efforts within the facility to drive best-in-class operational performance.

  • Coordinate work group activities, schedule work, assign machines to meet manufacturing schedules, increase overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), achieve takt time (required pace of product to meet demand), and reduce lead time.
  • Record work group performance data and send a daily report to the Manager to provide an update of daily activities, personnel changes, and any issues encountered.
  • Conduct training for Manufacturing Team Members, which include set-up and operation of equipment, understanding manufacturing processes, plant regulations, safety rules and hazards, and other job-related procedures and standards.
  • Motivate and lead Manufacturing Team Members by providing coaching and development opportunities.
  • Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and elevate major issues to the Manager.
  • Work with the Operations team and Lean Business Systems group to establish Key Process Indicators, lean initiatives, and project time lines as well as monitor and update output reports.
  • Collaborate with the Supply Chain Management group to maintain required manufacturing supplies and services. Complete purchase requisitions as necessary.
  • Comprehend and administer all Company policies and procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or internal communications from management team.
  • Make employment recommendations on hiring, promotion, transfers, training and development, disciplinary action, terminations, and pay adjustments; monitor performance by completing new hire and annual performance evaluations.
  • May assist in the development of the annual departmental fiscal budget.
  • Ensure that proper safety methods are used in the department as specified by Loss Prevention. Ensure team maintains an orderly and clean department.
  • Participate in various lean manufacturing activities to improve products, reduce waste, or learn new skills or operations.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma and three (3) years of relevant work experience required.
  • Bachelor's Degree and one (1) year working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Lean tools (6S, Kaizen, ect.), OSHA, DEQ, and EPA regulations, and quality system (e.g. ISO, QS, TS Standards).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word) and computer systems such as Production Reporting.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with people, projects, and issues.
  • Ability to demonstrate and comprehend basic math.
  • Ability to read and comprehend English in work-related documents.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with and establish rapport with all levels of management and staff employees.
  • Willingness to become First Responder certified and wear required PPE.
  • 1st Shift - Monday - Thursday, 5am - 3:30pm
Physical Demand Requirements

Occasionally required to stand, walk or sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

This role has an annual salary range $80,000 - $100,000 ( OT eligible). In addition to salary, you’re eligible for competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Klein Tools Inc. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors, including, but not limited to, skills, experience, and location.
