Job summary

Kennametal is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor in Huntsville, AL to plan and oversee daily plant production. You will supervise production workers, coordinate schedules, and ensure strict adherence to quality, safety, and delivery targets.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in manufacturing with leadership experience and familiarity with SAP. This role requires coordinating with engineering, maintenance, and QA to optimize outputs and reduce costs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in manufacturing with 3+ years in a leadership role.
• Associate's degree preferred, but not required.
• Knowledge of production processes, machinery, and equipment.
• Experience in 24/7 continuous process manufacturing preferred.
• Knowledge of SAP is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate production workers on the manufacturing floor.
• Plan and organize production schedules to meet demand and targets.
• Ensure products meet quality standards and specifications.
• Allocate resources including manpower, materials, and equipment.
• Provide training and development, and ensure EHS compliance.
• Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, and QA to resolve issues.
• Ensure customer satisfaction through lead times and on-time delivery.
• Support cost reduction through lean and 6 Sigma programs.
• Participate in audits such as ISO, QMS.

Job Summary

Plans and supervises the overall production activities of a plant ensuring compliance to standards. Responsible for coordinating and supervising the activities of production workers to ensure efficient and timely production while maintaining quality standards and safety protocols. Monitors daily operations to identify and resolve problem areas relating to staffing, scheduling, equipment, EHS, quality and production.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Supervise functional or operational area that directly supports the execution of tactical objectives.
• Supervise and coordinate the activities of production workers on the manufacturing floor.
• Plan and organize production schedules to meet customer demand and production targets.
• Supervise production processes to ensure products meet quality standards and specifications.
• Allocate resources effectively, including manpower, materials, and equipment, to optimize production output.
• Training and development, EHS compliance.
• Liaise with other departments, such as engineering, maintenance, and quality assurance, to coordinate production activities and resolve operational issues.
• Responsible to assure customer satisfaction needs are met - lead time, on-time delivery, quality of product
• Responsible to assure proper staffing levels are in place to support demand.
• Responsible for supporting cost reduction initiatives through lean and 6 Sigma programs.
• Responsible for all departmental audits like ISO, QMS etc.

Education, Work Experience, Skills, Certificates

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing, minimum 3 years of experience in leadership role
• Associate's degree preferred, but not required.
• In-depth knowledge of production processes, machinery, and equipment used in manufacturing.
• Effective communication with shop floor employees and cross-functional departments to coordinate production activities.
• Experience in 24/7/365 continuous process manufacturing preferred
• Knowledge of production planning and scheduling.
• Knowledge of SAP is preferred, but not required.
