Job summary

Kenvue, Fort Washington site, is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor. You will supervise hourly production staff on a 12-hour rotating schedule (3-on, 2-off, 2-on, 3-off) onsite in Fort Washington, PA, and drive quality, output, and safety across high-speed packaging lines.

You will establish schedules, monitor metrics, and lead continuous improvements while collaborating with the Packaging Manager Operations to meet business targets and maintain cost controls.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree with 6+ years in Operations/Manufacturing or a Bachelor’s with 4+ years.
  • Strong English communication, math, analytical and technical writing skills.
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise production team to meet goals on high-speed packaging lines.
  • Establish personnel schedules and input to production flow.
  • Compile and report production metrics and ensure quality.
  • Train staff on safety, quality, and procedures; maintain health/safety standards.
  • Lead change to achieve costumer and consumer needs; drive continuous improvements.
  • Coordinate with site leaders to optimize material, machine and labor resources.
  • Ensure adherence to union agreements and budget considerations.

What you will do

The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for managing and motivating production personnel to deliver maximum quality and output in a highly automated operation and accountable to achieve production targets while maintaining costs and maintain the highest standards for safety.

Supervisors work 12-hour shifts on a rotating 3-on, 2-off, 2-on, 3-off (3-2-2-3) schedule. This continuous schedule includes weekends and consists of both day and night shifts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise production team to meet production goals related to the operation of high speed packaging lines and manufacturing platforms to support internal and external customer expectations for quality, timeliness and cost.
  • Establishes personnel schedules based on business needs. Provides input to production flow and identifies potential manufacturing risks and challenges.
  • Compiles and reports out on production metrics.
  • Trains staff in policies and procedures including areas of safety and quality. All activities will be completed in a manner that protects the health and safety of all colleagues and in full compliance to all policies and procedures
  • Establishes a work environment that embraces change by providing the leadership needed to implement and deliver goals that achieve business and costumer & consumer’s needs.
  • Continuously assesses work and processes to ensure compliance to all required standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Facilitate communication activities and acts as a liaison between hourly colleagues and other leaders at the site. Responsible to understand and ensure adherence to union collective bargaining agreement.
  • Recommends changes to standard operational and working practices providing the leadership vital to develop and implement continuous improvements.
  • Works with Business Unit Manager to develop and implement methods and processes that optimize the flow and use of material, machine and human resources.
  • Supervise all hourly colleagues on the shift within the business unit ensuring performance standards are achieved and driving employee and equipment productivity, uptime and efficiency to achieve optimum results in the areas of quality, production, health and safety, cost of goods, etc.
  • Provides feedback to operational budgets and have an understanding of financial drivers.
  • Maintain appropriate levels of labor, scrap, data integrity, schedule attainment, quality, up time, run time, cycle time, and housekeeping.
  • Recommend changes in working conditions and equipment to increase the efficiency of the business unit and staff.
What are we looking for:
Required Qualifications
  • Associates degree with a minimum of 6 years of experience or Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Operations / Manufacturing / Packaging is required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communication in the English language is required.
  • Basic to intermediate math (computational) ability is required.
  • Strong analytical and technical writing skills are required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing, communication, listening, negotiating and problem solving / decision-making skills are required.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience and/or certification(s) related to TPM, TPS, Lean, Six Sigma is preferred
    A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in GMP environments is preferred.
  • Prior Supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing and packaging experience is preferred.
  • Basic to intermediate math (computational) ability is required.
  • Experience with Six Sigma/Process Excellence tools is preferred.

What’s in it for you

Annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges:

$90,100.00 - $127,200.00

This takes into account a number of factors including work location, the candidate’s skills, experience, education level & other job-related factors.
