Job summary

The Royal Group, an affiliate of Schwarz Partners, seeks a Staff Accountant to support our Cicero, IL facility. You will maintain financial records, prepare reports, and assist with month-end and year-end close in a manufacturing environment.

You will post journal entries, reconcile the general ledger and inventory accounts, support fixed assets, and assist with AP/AR. Strong GAAP knowledge and ERP proficiency (SAP/Oracle/NetSuite) with Excel are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 2+ years of accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, reconcile general ledger accounts, and assist with month-end closing.
• Maintain and reconcile inventory accounts, including cost of sold goods and production variances.
• Support fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules.
• Assist with accounts payable and receivable functions as needed.
• Prepare financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.
• Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to understand financial impact of production activities.
• Support audits and tax filings by preparing schedules and documentation.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Provide some technical directions to other accountants and/or clerical staff doing bookkeeping
• Provide special project assistance to Director of Finance, or Controller
• Additional duties as assigned
