Job summary

Caterpillar in Schertz, Texas is seeking a dynamic Tool Crib Attendant to manage and distribute tools, equipment, and supplies essential for machinery maintenance and production support. You will work with diverse teams to ensure parts are available and processes run smoothly.

Qualifications

Minimum 4 months' experience in machining, manufacturing, or warehouse environment.
Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English.
Attention to detail and ability to identify non-conforming parts and investigate quality defects.
Previous experience reading and interpreting part prints, schematics, and/or blueprints.
General knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Familiarity with standard operating procedures or standard work.
Ability to adhere to safety procedures.

Responsibilities

Provide exceptional customer service by assisting all team members with locating parts.
Disburse parts removed or signed out from crib using inventory system software.
Set up, adjust, and operate a variety of machine tooling to conduct precision machining operations.
Maintain machining processes to specifications.
Manage dispositioning of tools sent out or received for regrind or repair.
Handle delivery and pickup of machine tools using transfer carts.
Perform process testing to ensure quality control.
Maintain accurate records related to inventory, quality and defective parts.
Track items through the designated software system.
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and schematic diagrams.
Assist with resolution of Continuous Improvement cards and provide process information to supervisors.
Complete daily 5S, workplace organization, by end of shift.
Ensure a safe and clean workstation environment.
Perform any other assigned duties.

What you will do

Provide exceptional customer service by assisting all team members with locating parts

Set up, adjust, troubleshoot, and operate a variety of machine tooling, including specialized and advanced variation tools to conduct precision machining operations
Maintain machining processes to specifications

What you will have

Minimum of 4 months' experience in a machining, manufacturing, or warehouse environment or industry certification
Ability to work well with others
Proficiency in working with hand tools
Familiarity with mechanical products and components
Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English
Attention-to-detail and ability to identify non-conforming parts and investigate quality defects
Previous experience reading and interpreting part prints, schematics, and/or blueprints
General knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and/or PowerPoint
Previous experience with Standard Operating Procedures or Standard Work
Ability to adhere to safety procedures

What would make you a top candidate

Experience using scanners and inventory system software for parts management
Previous experience and/or training in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) Software
Previous experience setting up and troubleshooting Heller and/or Toyoda machining cells

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time
Ability to perform repetitive operations
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

Additional Information

2nd Shift will receive a shift premium of 7%
2nd Shift: Monday - Friday 2:00PM-10:30PM. Overtime as required

Summary Pay Range

$20.00 - $25.25
