Job summary

Dover Corporation's PSG division is seeking a Manufacturing Quality Manager in Grand Rapids, MI to direct the QMS, lead continuous improvement, and oversee quality staff while ensuring products meet customer specs and regulatory standards. You will drive ISO compliance and root-cause analysis across PSG plants.

Collaborating with Supply Chain, Finance, HR, Engineering and Product Management, this onsite role emphasizes a Zero-Defect culture and robust metrology strategies to standardize quality

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business or engineering (required).
  • MBA or master's in engineering preferred.
  • Certified Quality Engineer/Manager desirable.
  • Strong budgeting and project management skills.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage the QMS and quality procedures.
  • Lead root cause analysis and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee daily quality control and ISO 9001 compliance.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Engineering and Operations across plant sites.
  • Mentor Plant Quality staff to foster a Zero-Defect culture.
  • Manage Supplier Quality Program and PPAP activities.
  • Support customer complaint investigations and corrective actions.

Position Summary:

TheManufacturing Quality Managerdirects the Quality Management System (QMS), leads continuous improvement initiatives, manages quality control and assurance staff, and ensures products meet customer specifications and regulatory standards. They will oversee daily quality control whilemaintainingISO compliance and driving root cause analysis.

The position requires the ability to work and communicate with leadership functions across all levels,operationsand functions in PSG (including Supply Chain, Finance, Human Resources, Engineering, and Product Management,Salesand Marketing).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and manage quality systems and proceduresfor the business
  • Participate actively in the development and validation of controlled shop floor documentation toassistoperators in the manufacture,assemblyand shipping of quality products. This includes, but it is not limited to Control Plans, PFMEAS, etc.
  • Partner with manufacturing leaders to assess effectiveness ofprocesses
  • Participate in New Product Introduction and Plant Readiness to ensure plants are fully equipped to have seamless and smooth product launches
  • Coordinate plant initiativesin order toachieve consistency and standardization of best QS practices across the manufacturing plant
  • Responsible formaintaininga robustmetrologystrategy and standardization across the manufacturing plant
  • Partner with Sourcing tomanage the siteSupplier Quality Program tomonitorongoing performance and to:
    • Place suppliers on controlled shipping
    • PPAP Management (internal and external suppliers)
    • Expanding business relationship
  • Assistwith the investigation of customer complaints and implement corrective actions
  • Support, develop and mentor Plant Quality Functions to enable them to create a Zero-Defect Culture across the plants
  • Responsible for assessing andmaintaininga robust Internal Quality Audits System tomaintainongoing effectiveness of ISO 9000 Requirements and any other customer-specific requirements
  • Assistwith the developmentand launch of ongoing training programs aimed at increasing manufacturing capabilities to improve Root Cause and Corrective Action skill levels
Qualifications / Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degreerequiredin business or engineering
  • MBA or master's in engineering preferred
  • Certified Quality Engineer and/or Manager (ASQC CQE, CQM) are highly desirable
  • Proficient in budgeting and project management
  • Program development,implementationand changemanagement experience
