Job summary

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials engineering solutions, seeks a seasoned Quality Engineer to lead quality-improvement initiatives across complex programs. You will manage multiple projects, report status to senior leadership, and drive process improvements using Six Sigma and 8D methodologies.

Ideal candidates have extensive quality engineering experience and are ASQ certified, with strong data analytics skills and a deep understanding of ISO 9001:2015 standards.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years quality engineering experience.
  • Project management experience.
  • American Society of Quality Certified Quality Engineer.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 standards.
  • Ability to analyze data and drive process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage quality improvement project plans, schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
  • Create updates and report out project status to upper management
  • Capable of identifying process nonconformances and coordinating cross-functional groups to identify solutions
  • Facilitate or lead kaizen events for continual improvement opportunities
  • Use six sigma or 8D methodology to drive standardization, results and continuous improvement initiatives across the global enterprise.
  • Write and solicit feedback for process governance documents.
  • Monitor process performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage quality improvement project plans, schedules, milestones, and deliverables.

  • Knowledge of developing project plans and facilitating cross-functional meetings for status updates
  • Has theoretical and practical expertise working under quality management systems and process controls.
  • Capable of analyzing data to identify patterns and if necessary, perform statistical analysis to identify significant factors

  • Managing projects to ensure stakeholder execution and schedule adherence
  • Understands the dynamics of a manufacturing company
  • Understands the requirements and adherence responsibilities to a quality management system
Leadership
  • Acts as a mentor for colleagues and technicians; ability to lead large projects with manageable risks and resource requirements
  • Ability to translate management vision into tactical actions which drives quality culture improvement at grass roots
  • Willing to spend time on the manufacturing floor to observe directly issues which impact manufacturing efficiency and outgoing quality.

  • Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing solutions; exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information
  • Uses the ISO9001:2015 standard as a basis for process requirements
  • Focus on bottom-line impact through quality improvements; develop and execute projects based on ROI and alignment with business objectives

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
