Position Summary

The Manufacturing Quality Engineer will participate in the execution of the Airtech’s quality management processes and contribute to the continued improvement of the quality management system.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Process Quality Management
  • Perform internal process and quality system audits; maintain the Airtech internal audit plan
  • Facilitate ISO9001 certification audits
  • Manage the corrective actions business process
  • Facilitate the disposition of non-conforming material
  • Support engineering with the assessment of process/product risk and the implementation of control plans
  • Support and develop Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA’s) with Manufacturing and New Product Development
  • Participate in the review of product and process change requests
  • Support the calibration and monitoring of measurement equipment
  • Manage the data collection and SPC system
  • Issue quality alerts in response to customer complaints and process excursions
Product Quality Management
  • Perform internal product audits
  • Support product design engineering, new-product development, and new-product introduction by ensuring alignment between product requirements and material specifications
  • Customer Relationship Management
  • Issue and track internal corrective action requests in response to customer complaints
  • Approve and verify effectiveness of Corrective Actions
  • Support customer visitations and audits by coordinating pre-audit activities and by hosting the customer
  • Work closely with the customers, operations, product engineer and other internal departments to answer complaints. Communicate results of findings to customers and any corrective actions taken to address filed failures.
Supplier Quality Management
  • Collaborate with the supplier quality engineer to issue supplier-corrective actions requests in response to customer complaints or the receipt of non-conforming material
Reporting and Improvement
  • Participate in daily GEMBA walks and maintain a Quality GEMBA board
  • Provide monthly reports on routine quality processes, improvement projects and problem solving
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the quality management system and independently drive improvement
  • Develop and present data during the Quality Management Reviews
Qualifications
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Deep knowledge of common quality management terminology, methods and tools
  • Demonstrated knowledge of testing best practices and defect management processes
  • Working experience with the ISO 9001 quality management system
  • Ability to work and perform in a team environment and effective interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated high attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical decision making and problem solving skills
  • Proven ability to resolve issues and participate in process improvement activities
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline required
  • 5-8 years of related work experience
  • Experience with Root Cause Analysis, GD&T, measuring equipment, SPC and lean manufacturing preferred
  • Experience in programming coordinate-measurement-machines (CMM) preferred
  • Prior experience with ISO 9001
  • Certifications as ISO9001 / ISO9100 / IATF / ISO13485 auditor preferred
Physical Demands
  • While performing duties of the job, employee is required to move around and be still; use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear
  • Employee will occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
Work Environment
  • Office and shop floor working environment
  • Noise level is minimal with intervals of spikes
  • Required to wear safety glasses and utilize safety equipment while present on the shop floor
Total Rewards

The compensation range for this position is $94,600.00 - $142,000.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
