Manufacturing Quality and Reliability Senior Engineer
A job at TSMC Arizona offers an opportunity to work at the most advanced semiconductor fab in the United States. TSMC Arizona’s first fab will operate its leading-edge semiconductor process technology (N4 process), starting production in the first half of 2025. The second fab will utilize its leading edge N3 and N2 process technology and be operational in 2028. The recently announced third fab will manufacture chips using 2nm or even more advanced process technology, with production starting by the end of the decade. America’s leading technology companies are ready to rely on TSMC Arizona for the next generations of chips that will power the digital future.
As a Manufacturing Quality and Reliability Senior Engineer, you will lead efforts to ensure product quality and dependability for cutting-edge semiconductor technologies. In this role, you will define and achieve DPPM targets, assess reliability risks, solve technical challenges, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the highest standards are met. We are seeking an enthusiastic team member who demonstrates a strong sense of ownership and possesses an attitude that embodies our core values – I ntegrity, C ommitment, I nnovation, and C ustomer Trust.
Responsibilities
- Define DPPM Targets: Establish and monitor DPPM (defective parts per million) goals for advanced technology processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce DPPM.
- Perform Reliability Risk Assessments: Conduct product reliability risk assessments for fab events, including CP (control plan), DVS (dynamic voltage scaling), baking, HTOL (high-temperature operating life), and more.
- Execute Problem-Solving Processes: Utilize structured methodologies such as PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act), 8D, 3Leg/5Why, and KT (Kepner-Tregoe) to solve technical and analytical challenges.
- Evaluate Engineering Change Impacts: Review engineering changes to ensure adherence to procedures and evaluate their impact on product quality and reliability.
- Customer Communication: Collaborate with customers to discuss product reliability evaluations, test screening methods, and process reliability window assessments.
- Support Continuous Improvement: Actively identify opportunities for innovation, improvement, and accountability in manufacturing processes to achieve reliability goals.
- Cross Organization Teamwork: When fab events happen, host a discussion meeting to have cross team communication with fab sponsors define assessment plan and follow up, RA test resource arrangements, and schedule control.
