Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Manufacturing/Project Engineer to lead the Gen 6 Engine Assembly at the Tonawanda facility in Buffalo, NY. The role coordinates assembly equipment installation, readiness, and interface with contractors and OEM partners.

The successful candidate will drive issue resolution, support G-Comply planning, and ensure work complies with GM safety, quality, and engineering standards as production ramps to sustained operation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or related technical discipline.
• 3+ years in manufacturing, project, equipment-installation, or plant engineering.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams, contractors, and suppliers.
• Ability to manage schedules, risks, and technical issues.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering execution for Gen 6 Assembly equipment installation and readiness.
• Coordinate daily activities across assembly, maintenance, safety, contractors, and OEM partners.
• Drive closure of installation issues, punch lists, and schedule risks.
• Support G-Comply planning, evidence readiness, and completion for equipment and areas.
• Review layouts, interfaces, safeguarding, utilities, and installation plans.
• Track milestones, actions, and escalate to leadership; communicate status.
