Daimler Truck North America LLC seeks a Project Manager with distribution operations background to lead process optimization in a fast-paced Parts Distribution Center environment. You will identify bottlenecks, improve material and information flow, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across warehouse operations and IT teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional optimization projects focused on warehouse operations, material flow, labor productivity, inventory movement, and operational efficiency.
• Partner with operations leadership and frontline teams to identify process bottlenecks, flow disruptors, and operational pain points.
• Analyze current-state workflows and develop data-driven recommendations for process improvements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and Industrial Engineering methodologies.
• Identify opportunities to leverage AI, automation, and advanced analytics to improve operational performance and decision-making.
• Support warehouse layout optimization, slotting strategies, storage utilization, and labor balancing initiatives.
• Develop project plans, timelines, business cases, and implementation strategies for operational improvements.
• Coordinate with IT, engineering, warehouse systems, and operational stakeholders to execute improvement initiatives.
• Monitor project performance, KPIs, and ROI metrics to ensure expected benefits are achieved.
• Facilitate change management activities and support operational adoption of new processes and technologies.
• Conduct operational studies related to throughput, travel reduction, staffing models, productivity, and process standardization.
• Present findings, recommendations, and project updates to leadership teams in a clear and professional manner.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% as needed to support business operations and stakeholder engagement.

Inside the Role We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Project Manager with a distribution operations background to lead process optimization initiatives within a fast-paced Parts Distribution Center (PDC) environment. This role is responsible for identifying operational inefficiencies, improving material and information flow, and driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, service, safety, and cost performance. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can work autonomously while partnering closely with warehouse operations, engineering, IT, and leadership teams to solve complex operational challenges. This individual will also help identify opportunities to integrate emerging technologies and AI-driven solutions into distribution center operations and decision-making processes.

What You Drive

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

• Manufacturing engineering or industrial engineering background.


• Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent continuous improvement experience.


• Project Management Professional Certification.


• Experience supporting automation, goods-to-person systems, or material handling equipment initiatives.
