Job summary

Prairie Farms Dairy, Inc. in Rochester, MN is seeking a Manufacturing Production Worker to perform general production tasks on a rotation basis within our dairy manufacturing operations.

You will work on lines handling cheese ingredients, scale operation, filling, and palletizing duties as part of a team. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, forklift certification, and the ability to read, understand English, and follow SOPs.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent skills by experience.
• Must be forklift certified. (as required)
• Must be able to read, interpret and understand written and oral directions in English.
• Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies.
• Must demonstrate basic math skills to calculate and understand weights and measures.
• Must be able to work flexible hours and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Set up equipment for changeovers as well as assist others during changeovers.
• Participate in the wet or dry cleaning as needed.
• Follow SOPs - perform all functions of the manufacturing process.
• Inspect sealed packages for integrity of the seal.
• Monitor the individual raw materials both for quality and quantity.
• Relieve other positions as needed.
• Inspect all equipment to assure proper operation and safety.
• Follow operational procedures and complete required paperwork.
• Responsible for keeping his or her work area clean
• Follow GMP’s, quality control, cleaning and sanitation procedures.
• Follow all safety procedures.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
• Maintains continuity among work teams with good communicating actions.
• Report any non-compliant, defective, or sub-standard product immediately to supervisor.
• Assist in any other areas of the manufacturing plant when necessary.
• Follow directions of Operator as needed

Summary:

The Production worker performs all general production activities on a rotation basis involved in the manufacturing process. The following positions are included in the rotation, but are not limited to, Feeding Cheese & Ingredient Processor to line, Scale Operator, Box Filler, and Vacuum Operator, Palletizing

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, stand or walk for prolonged periods of time. The employee is required to use hands and fingers to operate, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms on a repetitive basis. The employee must be able to lift, bend stoop, push/pull exerting up to 70 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects. Requires visual acuity to review written documentation; ability to hear and understand speech. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level. There is exposure to a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, and exposure to heat/cold temperature changes.
