Job summary

L. & J.G. Stickley in Archdale, North Carolina, seeks a Manufacturing Production Supervisor to lead daily upholstery operations, champion safety, quality, and productivity, and drive continuous improvement through Lean practices.

You will coach teams, manage schedules, implement Kaizen events, 5S, and standardized work, and partner with Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, Purchasing, and Customer Service to build a highly engaged, high-performing operation.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience leading production teams and achieving operational goals.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Effective communication skills with employees at all levels.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with ERP or manufacturing systems preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies, including Kaizen, 5S, continuous improvement, standardized work, or waste reduction is a plus the ability to analyze production metrics and implement data-driven process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily production operations to achieve safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and continuous improvement goals
  • Coach, develop, and support production team members while building a culture of accountability and teamwork
  • Maintains daily and weekly work schedules and adjusts schedules and plans to meet production goals and business objectives
  • Responsible for product flow moving throughout the assigned departments
  • Drive Lean manufacturing initiatives, including Kaizen events, 5S workplace organization, standardized work, and process improvement activities
  • Work with Group Leaders and staff to identify opportunities to improve workflow, maintain safety, reduce waste, increase efficiency, and improve product quality
  • Support the implementation and sustainment of process improvements through employee engagement and follow-up
  • Ensure employees are trained on safety, quality standards, processes, and equipment
  • Monitor production performance, address issues, and implement effective solutions
  • Partner with Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, Purchasing, Customer Service, and other teams to improve operations
  • Support employee growth through coaching, feedback, cross-training, and skill development
  • Applies company policies, procedures, and performance expectations consistently and fairly, partnering with Human Resources regarding employee relations matters, coaching, corrective action, and performance management as appropriate.
  • Promote an open-door culture based on trust, respect, fairness, and communication

Stickley is seeking a Manufacturing Production Supervisor to lead daily operations within the Upholstery Manufacturing team in Archdale, North Carolina. This is an opportunity for a hands-on manufacturing leader who is passionate about employee development, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will leverage Lean manufacturing principles to improve safety, quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction while building a highly engaged and accountable team culture.
