Job summary

Siemens in Wendell, NC is seeking a Production Manager to oversee a 24/7 production line and drive improvements across safety, quality, cost, and delivery. You will lead staffing, optimize capacity, and collaborate with engineering, scheduling, purchasing, logistics, quality, and finance to meet business objectives.

The role reports to the Head of Production and relocation assistance is available. A bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in manufacturing are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Business Management, Operations, Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in an industrial manufacturing environment or working knowledge of a manufacturing facility.
• Managerial understanding of critical success factors in Manufacturing/Operations.
• Lean manufacturing experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to create accountability and lead by example.
• Strong team building and people management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and optimize production operations to safely deliver quality products, meet customer expectations, and achieve KPI targets.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, 6S, waste reduction, cycle time, and productivity gains.
• Manage staffing, resources, and production capacity to maximize efficiency, support growth, and meet business objectives.
• Partner with technical teams to improve manufacturing processes, update work instructions, and implement operational improvements.
• Develop frontline leaders and employees, fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and ownership.
• Oversee inventory optimization, production systems (SAP/Salesforce), audit readiness, and customer visit support to ensure operational excellence.

The EA Business Unit has a diverse portfolio of products, including, but not limited to, low-voltage MCC, CMR fuse saver, MV switchgear, MV circuit breakers, and metering, power monitoring, power quality, and protective relay maintenance and systems of a standard nature.

We are looking for a Production Manager. This position will be based in Wendell, NC. Relocation assistance is available.

Reporting to the Head of Production, the Production Manager will have 24/7 responsibility for a production line in Wendell, NC. Youwill manage the production activities, report operational KPI’s, and oversee operational improvements.

• Lead and optimize production operations to safely deliver quality products, meet customer expectations, and achieve KPI targets.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree typically within Business Management, Operations, Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent education and experience.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an industrial manufacturing environment or working knowledge of a manufacturing facility
• Managerial understanding of the critical success factors in a Manufacturing/Operations environment
• Strong process mindset demonstrated in process improvement role. Lean manufacturing experience
• Result and solution oriented and strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to create accountability and to lead by example
• Strong team building and people management skills
• Ability to make smart decisions independently
• Collaborating well with key functions like Engineering, Scheduling, Purchasing, Logistics, Quality, Finance, and other functions

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of medium voltage or low voltage switchgear
• Knowledge of SAP and Salesforce. – removed from basic qualifications

The pay range for this position is $94,207 - $161,498 annually with a target incentive of 10% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
