Job summary

Toyotetsu North America is seeking a MERIT Process Improvement Specialist for the 1st shift at our Somerset, KY site. The role focuses on applying a systematic approach to process improvement, data analysis, and presentation of findings to drive efficiency in manufacturing.

Responsibilities include performing root cause analysis, PDCA cycles, and cross-functional collaboration to design, implement, and monitor solutions. Travel to other TTNA sites is expected up to 15%.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn, receive training and take initiative.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to gather and analyze data.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and plant floor “Go and See” activity.
• Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and Plex.
• Must have a minimum of two years of experience in a relevant position.

Responsibilities

• Learn and understand how to use Toyotetsu’s systematic approach to process improvement, including data analysis and presentation tools.
• Analyze data and performance trends to identify areas for improvement in manufacturing processes.
• Use Root Cause Analysis and PDCA to identify problems and propose solutions.
• Work with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and monitor solutions.
• Establish and improve standard work and Gentani where applicable.
• Conduct Kaizen activities to achieve departmental cost savings targets for loss reduction and Gentani improvement to support company goals for the SWWG.
• Utilize technology where appropriate to support digitization or digitalization within manufacturing processes.
• Present activity findings and results in a clear and concise manner.
