Job summary

ITW Drawform is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support and improve manufacturing operations across the facility. This role focuses on understanding customer needs and translating them into effective manufacturing processes.

The position collaborates with operations to develop and implement processes related to washing, robotics, packing, material movement, and material staging. It also involves capital planning and supplier coordination to meet project timelines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering is required.
  • 5-7 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with robotics, machining, washing, part handling and equipment launches is needed.
  • Industrial engineering background with some mechanical engineering is ideal.
  • Familiarity with Solidworks and AutoCAD is important.
  • Experience in metal stamping and parts washing is a plus.
  • Previous project launch and program management experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Research, develop, and implement measurable production processes with timely results.
  • Assist in determining material handling, storage, and flow requirements.
  • Develop and maintain production layouts and prepare CAD alternatives.
  • Investigate and specify resources required for new processes.
  • Assist with capital expenditure planning and vendor management to meet timelines and budgets.
  • Input and maintain routings, bills of material, and FMEA's.
  • Assist outside processors with start-up and troubleshooting of processes.
  • Develop, document and maintain process plans and machine operating instructions.
  • Maintain customer specifications.
  • Coordinate delivery, set-up and start-up of new equipment.
  • Develop and coordinate the preventative maintenance program.
  • Assist with APQP process on new programs.
