Job summary

Qualifications

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The ManufacturingProcessEngineerIIIfor RBTIwillbe part of the manufacturing engineering department to support production operationsby designing, building, manufacturing,andimplementingjigs, tooling and fixtures to ensure we meet the CTFfor our customers before it hits thefloor andensureTAS operatorscontinuemeeting theCTF deliverables throughout the process.The position requires a results-oriented individualthat willdrive operationstofollow the process,create tools and fixtures toensure we meet the quality standards required by our customers and work with our production and quality team toensure maximum productivity and efficiency of the process.Primary objectives are toanalyze the process, find what areasthat need support tomeet CTFsand create tooling, the work instructionsand the process toguarantee we meet customer satisfaction goals.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Evaluate productiontasks and drawings to ensure we meet all theCTF metrics,creating tools, fixtures or gaugesfor production and quality tocreate the environment whereour quality standards are met and exceeded every single time.
• Work with production and quality towalk the process to a successfulimplementation of the new tools, fixtures and gauges.
• Through data analysis,identify opportunities for improvements in productivity,quality,material flow, safety, quality, and cost. Prioritize actions to be taken, establish schedules for completion, and implement the necessary measures to realize savings.
• Responsible for the implementation of key elements of Lean, such as: Standardized Work Instructions, Value Stream Mapping, and Kaizen/5S
• Conduct time studies and audits as appropriate to validate and adjust labor estimates to reflect actual costs.
• Work with vendors in determining product specifications and evaluating products according to quality standards and specifications.
• Facilitate and/or lead cross-functional teams with Engineering, Production and Estimating in support of driving efficiencies and eliminating non-value-added activities.
• Collaborate with design engineering in concurrent engineering efforts to ensure manufacturability. Proactivelyidentifyingopportunities for improved manufacturability andcoordinatingimplementation with design engineering and operations personnel.
• Provide shop floor feedback on product design and manufacturability issues to Engineering and DFMs, and work with Design Engineering toupdate drawings to match the feedback from the floor tocontinue improving designs according to DFM.
• Document and track all cost savings and process improvements against targets.
• Evaluate Quality data and implement improvement activities to ensure all quality requirements are met.
• Plan and execute facility and work cell layout modifications based on planned products and workload to optimize material and product flow.
• Develop, design, justify and implement appropriate production tools, equipment, and other assets to maximize labor efficiency and reduce total cost.
• Support estimating function by providing estimates of direct labor and raw material costs as required. Develop and maintain cost models for various activities for use in estimating.

EDUCATION & TRAINING:

• BS / MS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or engineering.

• LEAN / Six SigmaBlackBelt certification is a plus.

• Previous experience in development of fixtures & Jigs.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum of10years of experience as an Industrial / ManufacturingEngineer,Process Engineer, Continuous Improvement Engineer, orother relatedrolesin a heavy/industrial manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with Fabrication, Welding & Assembly processes.
• Experience in implementation of Lean Processes such as Standardized Work Instructions, 5S, Process Improvement Initiatives etc.
• High proficiency in Blueprint reading and P&ID interpretation.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks & AutoCAD
• Good understanding of, and experience in implementing LEAN initiatives
• Relevant experience in a make to order/engineer to order project environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Most work will be performed sitting at a desk, but some work performed will be in a shopenvironment.

• Exposed to any number of elements but with none present to the extent of beingdisagreeable.

• Physical effortequal tofrequent moving of up to 50lbsmaterials.

• Regularly required to sit or stand, bend andreach.

• The use of Safety Glasses isrequired.

• The use of earplugs isrecommended.

• Ability to stand up to 10 hours a day (with lunch in between) and up to 6 days aweek.

• Ability to work in a non-air-conditioned environment.

• Steel-toe boots and hard hat required in Manufacturing Facility
