Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific in Allentown, PA is seeking an Engineer II in Manufacturing Engineering to drive process improvements and optimize equipment performance. You will collaborate with Operations, Quality, maintenance, R&D, and other teams to deliver manufacturing excellence.

The role focuses on supporting continuous improvement, solving workflow barriers, and implementing corrective actions with a data-driven, lean approach. Strong GMP knowledge and collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Packaging, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or related field is highly preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
0–2 years of relevant engineering experience or equivalent GMP/pharma/manufacturing exposure.

Responsibilities

Support continuous improvement initiatives with Engineering and Operations to boost safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
Collaborate with Production to resolve workflow barriers improving throughput and efficiency.
Participate in daily production support activities to identify process issues and implement corrective actions.
Support projects to improve equipment performance, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
Assist in deviation investigations, change controls, CAPA, and root cause analysis under guidance.
Develop proficiency with GMP documentation, SOPs, and company policies.
Perform activities safely, compliantly, and efficiently.
