Actalent in Woburn, MA is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to drive data-driven improvements in machine performance and product output. You will collect and analyze production data, develop dashboards, and collaborate with maintenance and production teams to troubleshoot issues and implement corrective actions.

This role emphasizes continuous improvement, material flow optimization, and advancement of Industry 4.0 initiatives, with a focus on OEE and process stability.

Job Title: Manufacturing Process Engineer Job Description

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement corrective actions.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Evaluate and improve material flow, setup reduction, machine utilization, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
• Develop dashboards, reports, and analytical tools to monitor process performance.
• Support manufacturing automation initiatives and machine connectivity projects.
• Utilize programming and data analysis tools to collect, organize, and analyze production data.
• Support implementation of Industry 4.0 technologies where appropriate.
• Work closely with Quality Assurance to support and maintain compliance of the material testing laboratory to applicable certifications and standards.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Industrial engineering preferred)
• Knowledge of mechanical principles, machining practices, and application of mathematics and dimensions to production machinery and tooling.
• Experience in improving production control, standard operating procedures, safety, quality control, and training through standard engineering concepts and practices.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Excellent PC skills and familiarity with programming tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Hands-on experience or exposure to a shop floor manufacturing environment (vocational school or internships are valuable).
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with effective communication across the organization.
• Ability to systematically identify failure modes using tools like 5-Why or Fishbone and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Capability in driving waste reduction, cycle time improvement, and process stability.
• Working knowledge of NADCAP requirements, audit readiness, and documentation control for maintaining certification in Heat Treat, Tensile, and Hardness Testing operations.
• Ability to develop and maintain clear SOPs, work instructions, and process maps.
• Effective communication and coordination with quality, IT, operations, and external auditors.
• Commitment to a clean, organized, and safe testing environment.

Work Environment

The work environment requires near visual acuity for reading machine dial gauges and precision measuring instruments. The ability to monitor machine sounds to identify changes is essential. Normal noise levels are experienced from operating machinery, with exposure to oils and cutting fluids. Safety glasses are required in the shop area. The typical work hours are from 8 AM to 4 PM, and reliable transportation to the facility is essential as public transport is not always dependable. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $70000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) with company match, and company-paid disability and life insurance. Employees also receive paid holidays, vacation and sick time, along with tuition reimbursement and other employee programs. They also offer an annual incentive program tied to company performance
