Job summary

Englewood Lab, Inc. is seeking a Process Engineer in Totowa, New Jersey to support development, optimization, and implementation of manufacturing processes for cosmetic and personal care products.

You will work with R&D, Production, Quality, and other departments to ensure successful transfer from laboratory development to full-scale manufacturing. Key responsibilities include process development, scale-up, pilot batches, validation, and ongoing process improvements, with opportunities to

Qualifications

• BSc or higher in chemistry, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in cosmetic/personal care manufacturing.
• Experience with transfer, scale-up, and process validation is preferred.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with R&D, Production, Quality, and other teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Spanish language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support technical transfer and scale-up activities from laboratory development to pilot and full-scale production
• Coordinate pilot batches, first production runs, and validation activities with R&D, Production, Quality, and customers, as applicable
• Conduct process development experiments and support manufacturing process optimisation
• Develop, review, and revise manufacturing procedures and related documentation
• Support daily compounding and batching operations, including troubleshooting, batch adjustments, and process improvements
• Identify and resolve manufacturing process deviations and non-conformance issues
• Improve manufacturing efficiency, process capability, and production output while maintaining product quality
• Support OTC product validation activities and assist R&D and QC in resolving formulation and quality-related issues
• Assist with equipment setup, evaluation, and improvements to support successful product transfers
• Develop and execute Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ) activities, as needed
• Support filling and assembly operations, including line trials and preparation of filling and assembly instructions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new product launches and continuous improvement initiatives
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

Position Summary

Englewood Lab is seeking a Process Engineer to support the development, optimization, and implementation of manufacturing processes for cosmetic and personal care products.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing processes, process development, scale-up, or production support preferred
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively with R&D, Production, Quality, and other cross-functional teams
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
• Spanish language skills are a plus
• Ability to lift and carry up to 10–15 pounds

Compensation & Benefits

Annual Salary Range: $55,000–$70,000

Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, and abilities.
