Position Overview

This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to PTME and deliver New Model Powertrain Programs. The PTME organization’s goal is ONE Manufacturing – the industry benchmark for Manufacturing, aiming to deliver Lean, Flexible, and Competitive Manufacturing Systems for Propulsion Technologies that power our global portfolio. We seek a passionate, purposeful, and customer-centric leader to join us as a Manufacturing Process Engineer.

Qualifications
  1. Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Engineering Technology
  2. 2+ years of Engineering and Manufacturing experience
  3. 1+ year working knowledge of GD&T and reading engineering drawings
  4. 1+ year experience in Lean Manufacturing principles
  5. 1+ year Project Management experience
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Master of Science in Engineering or Engineering Technology
  2. 2+ years Automotive experience
  3. 1+ year Gear manufacturing experience
  4. 1+ year Automation/Robotics experience
  5. Six Sigma Certification

Responsibilities
  1. Support development and implementation of Crankshafts and Gears manufacturing systems for new powertrain programs, mainly in Michigan and Ohio.
  2. Utilize machining process knowledge to optimize quality, costs, timing, and footprint.
  3. Lead equipment installation, commissioning, and handover to production.
  4. Manage bids, evaluate, and coordinate with Purchasing for equipment procurement.
  5. Collaborate with OEMs, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve engineering and delivery issues.
  6. Coordinate project-related activities including facilities, safety, ergonomics, and tooling.
  7. Support simulation and throughput improvement efforts with Industrial Engineers.
  8. Travel up to 100% during equipment installation and launch phases.
  9. Demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills, working effectively in cross-functional teams.
  10. Maintain a customer-focused approach in all work.
