Job summary

Electric Materials is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to design, document and optimize manufacturing processes across multiple product lines. You will lead validation, DOE projects, and continuous improvement efforts to ensure throughput, quality and cost targets are met.

The role requires hands-on problem solving in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with opportunities to mentor teams and influence processes from concept to production.

Qualifications

  • Previous manufacturing experience required

Responsibilities

  • Design, document, evaluate and support manufacturing processes to facilitate throughput and quality

Responsibilities
  • Design, document, evaluate and support existing and new manufacturing processes to facilitate efficient production throughput and quality
  • Establish effective and efficient manufacturing processes, work instructions, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), standard work documentation, and process control plans
  • Design testing methods and test finished goods to establish standards and validation process requirements
  • Lead efforts in the use of design of experiments (DOE) methodology and other process improvement tools
  • Determine root causes of failures using statistical methods and recommend changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods
  • Improve material flow and plan layout to optimize production efficiency, safety, quality, costs and remove waste throughout all processes
  • Support existing production programs to minimize equipment down time, maximize resource productivity and improve quality
  • Technical advisor for internal and external stakeholders which includes customers, suppliers and all internal departments
  • Prepare processes, drawings and develop tools for manufacturing processes to generate or improve efficient production throughput
  • Actively support production personnel in the set‑up and debugging process for new applications

What will you do?

Where you work depends on several things. Manufacturing Process Engineers lead our efforts to identify and drive out losses through standards and system development. They support the daily activities of the production line and/or processing areas, and build long term capability into their area, systems, and technicians. Daily work could encompass any of the following:

  • Identifying, prioritizing, analyzing, and eliminating losses and inefficiencies
  • Creating fixtures, tooling, or work holding for manufacturing process
  • Delivery and start‑up of new equipment, initiatives, and projects
  • Collaborating with technical experts, other functions, and other manufacturing sites to create the best solutions
  • Creating learning programs and coaching and training technicians
  • Creating and improving standards to enable us to achieve the performance targets for the production line
You are a good fit here if you:
  • Have a BS/MS degree in engineering. We prefer Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, though we may also consider other engineering.
  • Are willing to travel on the job on occasion. It really depends on your position, but we want to make sure you are ok travelling for this job.
  • Are willing to accept flexibility within your role.
