Job summary

TLD, a leading ground support equipment manufacturer, is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to develop and improve manufacturing processes by studying product and manufacturing methods. The role emphasizes evaluating processes, improving workflow, and assuring quality across production.

You will design, test, and implement efficient processes, optimize layouts, and lead lean and 6S initiatives while coordinating with vendors and training technicians.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in manufacturing process development and improvement.
  • Strong CAD/CAM, data analysis, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates and improves manufacturing processes by designing and testing methods and equipment.
  • Analyzes workflow, space needs, and layout to boost efficiency.
  • Ensures product and process quality with testing and standards.
  • Calculates costs, schedules, and material requirements for decisions.

  • Keeps up with regs and ensures safe, compliant operations.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Manufacturing Process Engineer position is responsible for developing and improving manufacturing processes by studying product and manufacturing methods.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.
  • Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.
  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
  • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Provides manufacturing engineering information by answering questions and requests.
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.
  • Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special service.
  • Maintains product and process data base by writing computer programs; entering data.
  • Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Lead and support 6S, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement efforts. DMS#2020 rev 2

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • CIT: establish standards and procedures for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain the currency with respect to technical and supervisory skills by attending training classes, special technical and administration courses; seminars, exhibits and trade shows are needed.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer skills: MRP system experience, knowledge of Microsoft Office.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
