Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a process-focused engineer to optimize logistics and warehouse operations in Columbia, MD. This hybrid role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to document current-state processes, map workflows, and implement Lean improvements.

You will develop SOPs, track KPIs, and drive standardization across inventory, order fulfillment, and shipping. Experience with SAP/ERP/WMS and strong communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Analyze and document current-state logistics and warehouse processes.
• Create and maintain SOPs, work instructions, process maps, and controlled documentation.
• Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, risks, and standardization opportunities.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean methodologies.
• Partner with Logistics, Supply Chain, Quality, IT, Engineering, and Production teams.
• Develop and track operational KPIs including inventory accuracy, cycle times, productivity, and fulfillment metrics.
• Support corrective actions and process standardization efforts.
• Train end users on new or updated procedures.
• Drive process improvements that improve efficiency, quality, accuracy, and consistency across operations.

Location: Columbia, MD (Hybrid - 3 days onsite, occasional travel to Frederick, MD and Coppell, TX)

Pay Rate: $35-50/hr

Start: ASAP

Must-Have Requirements

Ideal Candidate Profile

Looking for a process-minded engineer who can hit the ground running within a logistics or warehouse environment. The ideal candidate has strong Lean/Six Sigma experience, has worked with SAP or other ERP/WMS systems, enjoys documenting and improving operational processes, and can effectively communicate with stakeholders across multiple departments. Someone coming from manufacturing, distribution, fulfillment, supply chain, or warehouse operations would be highly attractive.
