Job Overview

The Manufacturing Engineer II – Assembly is responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing robust manufacturing assembly processes that improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity. This position requires a highly analytical engineer with a strong background in data-driven process development, statistical analysis, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies.

The successful candidate will lead process development initiatives, improve process capability through scientific experimentation, implement capital equipment, support new product introductions, and drive continuous improvement across assembly operations within a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment.

What your background should look like

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or related discipline.

  • Minimum 3–5 years of manufacturing engineering experience supporting complex assembly operations.

  • Experience with DOE, OFAT, Cp/Cpk, SPC, MSA/Gage R&R, and Process Validation.

  • Strong Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement knowledge.

  • Experience leading capital equipment implementation projects.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Six Sigma Green Belt preferred; Black Belt is an advantage.

  • Experience in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments.

  • Experience within aerospace, defense, marine, medical device, or other regulated industries.

  • Experience with AS9100, ISO 9001, ISO 13485 or similar QMS.

  • Experience implementing automated assembly systems.

  • Experience supporting NPI and product transfers.

  • Process Capability (Cp/Cpk), DOE, OFAT, SPC, MSA/Gage R&R, Root Cause Analysis, Process Validation, Minitab, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, PFMEA, Control Plans, Advanced Excel, ERP/MRP systems, Microsoft Office Suite.

COMPENSATION

  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $90,300 - 112,800 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
  • Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
  • Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
