TekWissen is seeking a Production/Equipment Specialist for a 12-month, on-site assignment with a major automotive client. Responsibilities include supporting PE and VME equipment development, risk assessments, safety verifications, and trials across NAMCs and global teams; travel to vendors in US, Canada, Mexico and Japan.

Qualifications include a 2-year technical degree or 3+ years of relevant experience, PLC programming with Toyopuc, Allen Bradley, Omron or Siemens, ability to read drawings,

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or trade school completion with 3+ years of technical experience.
  • Experience with PLC programming on Toyopuc, Allen Bradley, Omron or Siemens.
  • Ability to read mechanical/electrical drawings and work with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Support Production Engineering Vehicle Manufacturing Equipment development.
  • Assist with equipment specification development and standards compliance.
  • Support risk assessment and safety and design confirmations.
  • Verify equipment and logistics hardware for safety interlocks.
  • Assist in vendor buy-off trials and zone trials.
  • Adjust equipment for safety, quality, and productivity targets.
  • Travel to NAMCs and vendors in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Japan.

Job Description:

What you’ll be doing:

  • Support client’s Production Engineering [PE] Vehicle Manufacturing Engineering [VME] Battery Pack Assembly group’s equipment development with NAMCs & Global teams
  • Support equipment specification development to confirm standards compliance
  • Support equipment machine risk assessment development and confirmation activities
  • Complete Seibi equipment checks for Safety, Electrical & Mechanical design confirmations
  • Confirm equipment, conveyor & logistics hardware for individual cell & zone safety interlocks
  • Support Seibi equipment confirmations at vendor buy-off trials & larger zone trials
  • Support equipment adjustment to ensure Safety, Quality & Productivity target achievement
  • Engage in travel to vendors & NAMCs in the U.S., Canada, Mexico & Japan.

What you will bring:

  • 2 Year associate’s degree in technical field, completion of a trade school, or 3+ Years relevant technical experience
  • 2 Years Experience with PLC programming for Toyopuc, Allen Bradley, Omron or Siemens
  • Ability to read mechanical/electrical drawings.
  • Proficient with Microsoft products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams).
  • Ability & willingness to work up to 25% overtime, possibly including 12-hours shifts with likelihood of significant weekend & holiday work
  • Ability & willingness to travel up to 50% at peak times, both domestically & internationally.
Requirements:
What you may bring:
  • Experience with manufacturing equipment procurement, installation and confirmation
  • Experience with Kawasaki or Fanuc Industrial Robots for Part Transfer or Auto-Tightening
  • Experience with Keyence or other Vision System setup and/or integration
  • Experience with AMRs &/or AGVs and AGV Traffic Control systems.
