Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Michigan seeks a Manufacturing Planner Associate Manager to lead the manufacturing planning, production support, and material handling teams across multiple buildings on site. You will oversee 2-5 direct reports and drive continuous improvement using Production Management Teams and key operational metrics.

The role requires a bachelor's degree, 5+ years in production scheduling or inventory control, SAP/MRP experience, and strong Excel and data visualization skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and 5+ years of hands-on experience in production scheduling, material planning, or inventory control in a manufacturing environment; 1+ year in a leadership role.
• Experience with SAP or an MRP system.
• Expertise in master production scheduling, capacity planning, and BOM management.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas, VBA) and data-visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Effective communication with peers, leadership, and internal customers across multiple platforms.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance and pass ATF background check to be employed as an employee possessor.

Responsibilities

• Monitor schedule performance, identify constraints, and develop mitigation plans.
• Monitor inventory health and material shortages; adjust schedules dynamically when supply or labor issues arise.
• Act as a cross-functional liaison between program, quality, engineering, procurement, and manufacturing.
• Drive continuous improvement through Production Management Teams and operational metrics.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Production Planners and Material Handlers; provide direction and feedback.
• Communicate planning risks, material constraints, and schedule updates to leadership and stakeholders.
• Support new-product introduction, ramp-up planning, and operational readiness.
• Maintain audit-ready documentation and data accuracy within ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Apriso).
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve forecast accuracy, and enhance material flow.
