Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Mechanical Planning Engineer for a manufacturing client to bridge engineering, production, purchasing, inventory, and logistics, ensuring operations run efficiently and delivery commitments are met.

The ideal candidate combines a strong mechanical manufacturing background with planning expertise, managing production schedules, coordinating materials, generating travelers, and supporting purchasing activities to align resources with production goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering is required.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to learn industrial repair and refurbishment processes.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
• Continuous Improvement experience.
• First Part Qualification (FPQ) experience.
• Experience in warehouse operations and shipping processes.
• Quality Control or Quality Assurance experience.
• Experience in custom fabrication or job shop environments.
• Ability to support multiple manufacturing departments simultaneously.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and manufacturing compliance standards.
• Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage production schedules.
• Coordinate materials and ERP-driven manufacturing processes.
• Generate manufacturing travelers and support purchasing activities.
