Job summary

Abbott Laboratories is hiring a Processing Operator I at our Altavista, VA plant in the Nutrition division. You will help safely manufacture nutrition products, weigh and dispense ingredients, and operate computer‑controlled processing equipment.

Responsibilities include receiving bulk ingredients, completing work orders, performing quality checks, cleaning equipment and production areas, and troubleshooting equipment issues.

What You’ll Work On

• Safe manufacturing of our industry-leading adult, pediatric and medical nutritional products
• Weighing, handling and dispensing of ingredients
• Receiving and unloading bulk ingredients and chemicals
• Operating computer-controlled processing equipment
• Completing workorder documentation
• Performing quality checks
• Cleaning equipment and production environment
• Troubleshooting equipment issues

You’ll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly

Preferred Qualifications

• Forklift experience preferred

The base pay for this position is
$19.05 - $38.15/hour
In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
