Job description

The Membrane Operator 3 is a shift-based position reporting to the Supervisor, Membrane Manufacturing. The operator is responsible for the operation of all membrane manufacturing equipment in a safe, quality‑focused manner. Working as a team member in the Membrane 1 facility, the operator manufactures, packages, and ships membrane material.

Responsibilities
  • Produces lateral flow membranes in a clean manufacturing facility to meet customer demands and requirements.
  • Sets up equipment, moves raw chemical materials using SAP, facilitates batch mixing with PCS programming, and runs analytical testing on in‑process samples.
  • Opens and operates membrane utility equipment and the casting machine using the PCS operating system, and modifies parameters during the casting process.
  • Cuts finished membrane rolls, tests samples, and packages the rolls to final customer specifications.
  • Writes and revises relevant membrane SOPs using applicable documentation software.
  • Leads training of new employees in collaboration with management and staff trainers, and participates in cross‑training to convey mastery of membrane production.
  • Records critical quality attributes of membrane and related processing parameters using MES software.
  • Demonstrates comprehensive understanding of mixing, casting, and slitting operations, working independently across all membrane functions.
  • Undergoes training on the 1st shift (6:00 am‑2:30 pm) for several months.
Physical Attributes
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach above the shoulder, stoop, kneel, twist, crouch, or crawl.
  • Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds unassisted; move more than 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Good vision (distance, color, peripheral, depth perception) with the ability to adjust focus.
  • Regular use of phones, computers, office equipment, and laboratory equipment.
  • Mechanical aptitude and dexterity.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED and 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting; OR
  • Associate degree in a scientific discipline and 1+ year of experience in a manufacturing setting, plus 2+ years of experience running laboratory‑based tests.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree in chemistry, biology, or another life science discipline.
  • 1 year of experience operating a forklift.
Benefits

Pay Range: $21/hour – $38/hour. The actual compensation will be determined by location, experience, education, and other factors. Position may be eligible for sales or performance‑based bonuses.

Sign‑on Bonus: $5,000 (upon hiring).

Shift: 1st shift, 6:00 am–2:30 pm. This role does not offer sponsorship for work authorization. External applicants must be eligible to work in the United States.
