Job summary

Nationwide Technical Search seeks a Manufacturing Operations Manager to lead multi-shift production at our Calera, AL site. This onsite role offers relocation assistance and permanent/direct hire with full benefits. Salary ranges from $160,000 to $185,000 annually.

You will drive safe, efficient production, mentor supervisors, oversee CNC scheduling and tooling, and collaborate with Engineering on tooling, NPI, and process validation to meet quality specs and timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in manufacturing or engineering required.
• 5+ years manufacturing leadership experience, with 3+ years directly managing supervisors, team leads, and production staff.
• Strong knowledge of CNC machining, tooling, blueprint reading, GD&T, NPI, FAI, PPAP, and Lean manufacturing/continuous improvement.
• Experience using ERP/MRP systems (Dynamics 365 preferred) and manufacturing reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily manufacturing operations across shifts; own schedule execution, monitor staffing and equipment utilization, and coordinate rapid response for downtime, shortages, or quality issues.
• Coach, mentor, and develop supervisors, leads, and operators; set expectations for safety, quality, and productivity with workforce planning and performance management.
• Oversee CNC machining scheduling, program optimization (G-code/CAM), tooling, and setup improvements; ensure processes align with blueprints, GD&T, and customer specs.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI), process validation, time studies, and partner with Engineering to develop tooling, fixtures, and job aids.
• Enforce OSHA, environmental regulations, and safety policies through floor audits and leadership observations.
• Stand/walk, bend, reach for extended periods; lift up to 50 lbs; work in demanding conditions; support multi-shift operations.

Responsibilities & Requirements

• Operational Leadership & Production Execution: Lead daily manufacturing operations across shifts; own execution of schedules, monitor staffing and equipment utilization, and coordinate rapid response for downtime, shortages, or quality issues.
• Leadership & Workforce Development: Coach, mentor, and develop supervisors, leads, and operators; set expectations for safety, quality, and productivity while leading workforce planning, training, and performance management.
• CNC Manufacturing & Technical Operations: Oversee CNC machining scheduling, program optimization (G-code/CAM), tooling, and setup improvements; ensure processes align with blueprints, GD&T, and customer specifications.
• Quality & Engineering Collaboration: Support New Product Introduction (NPI), process validation, time studies, and partner with Engineering to develop tooling, fixtures, and job aids.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Experience: 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience, including 3+ years directly managing supervisors, team leads, and production staff.
• Technical Mastery: Strong knowledge of CNC machining, tooling, blueprint reading, GD&T, NPI, First Article Inspection (FAI), PPAP, and Lean Manufacturing/continuous improvement.
• Software & Systems: Experience using ERP/MRP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred) and manufacturing reporting tools.
