Job summary

Movement Search & Delivery is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Operations Manager for our Salisbury, NC aerospace facility. The role leads two 12-hour shifts, manages 30 employees with 5 salaried direct reports, and reports to a multi-site leadership team.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree (Industrial/Mechanical) or 10+ years in manufacturing, with strong Lean/Six Sigma background and Excel analytics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Mechanical engineering, or related field; plus 10+ years in manufacturing.
• MS or MBA degree desirable.
• Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and Six Sigma Certification.
• 7+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Extensive training in manufacturing processes.
• Strong data analytics and Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely manufacture a quality product while meeting customer specifications and delivery commitments.
• Ensure adherence to process control procedures and quality instructions.
• Formulate long- and short-range strategies for continuous improvements across plant manufacturing functions.
• Control costs, WIP levels, and monitor production planning.
• Recommend and purchase new equipment for expansion, efficiency, cost reductions, and quality improvement.
• Provide input on the design and installation of equipment for new processes.
• Ensure EHS rules are followed by every employee in the departments.
• Manage operational metrics, including TOC, variable cost, and productivity targets.
• Lead plant teams, including hiring, performance evaluations, and talent development.
• Maintain a positive team environment and motivate the production workforce.
• Establish and manage annual operating budgets for departments and meet the budget.
• Oversee production schedules and allocation of material, manpower, and equipment resources.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Responsible for safely manufacturing a quality product while meeting customer specifications and delivery commitments.
• Ensure adherence to process control procedures, operating instructions, and all quality control instructions.
• Formulate long- and short-range strategies for continuous improvements across all plant manufacturing functions.
• Control quality, delivery, cost of production, work-in-process levels, and monitor production through planning.
• Recommend and purchase new equipment for expansion, efficiency, cost reductions, and quality improvement.
• Provide input on the design and installation of equipment for new manufacturing processes.
• Ensure EHS rules are always followed by every employee in the departments.
• Manage operational metrics, including TOC, variable cost, and productivity targets on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
• Lead plant teams, including hiring, performance evaluations, and talent development.
• Maintain and enhance a team environment and motivate the production workforce.
• Establish and execute annual operating budgets for departments and meet the budget.
• Oversee manufacturing plans and maintain production schedules.
• Control costs of manufacturing, work-in-process inventory, and throughput.
• Oversee allocation of material, manpower, and equipment resources.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma Certification.
