Job description

LSDP is seeking a highly organized, hands‑on Manufacturing Operations Coordinator to help keep work moving between customer orders, work orders, raw material, outside suppliers, production, quality, and shipping.

We are a growing, vertically integrated manufacturer with CNC machining, elastomer molding, welding and fabrication, assembly, inspection, inventory, and shipping operations across a two‑building campus in Cypress, Texas.

This is an execution‑focused manufacturing support position - not a strategic sourcing, category‑management, or people‑management role. The right person enjoys organizing the moving pieces of production, following up persistently, maintaining accurate documentation, and making sure missing material or information does not become a last‑minute emergency.

Primary Mission

Make sure every released job has the correct work order, material, documentation, outside‑processing plan, and supplier commitment needed to move through production successfully.

Key Responsibilities
Work Orders and Production Support
  • Create accurate work orders and travelers from released sales orders.
  • Verify part numbers, drawing revisions, quantities, materials, routings, due dates, outside processes, and inspection requirements.
  • Assemble complete job packets before work is released to production.
  • Track work‑order readiness and identify missing material, drawings, certifications, or instructions.
  • Help the Manufacturing Operations Manager maintain visibility into shortages, outside‑processing status, and upcoming production requirements.
  • Update concise status records showing the next action, responsible person, committed date, and current risk.
  • Follow up with production, quality, shipping, and vendors until open items are completed.
Material and Vendor Coordination
  • Request quotes for raw material, outside processing, tooling, and overflow manufacturing.
  • Confirm material grade, size, quantity, condition, certifications, price, availability, and delivery date before purchase.
  • Prepare purchase orders and purchasing recommendations for approval.
  • Confirm suppliers acknowledge the correct requirements and promised delivery date.
  • Track open purchases through delivery rather than treating issuance of a purchase order as completion.
  • Escalate shortages, late suppliers, or unclear commitments before they affect production.
  • Maintain organized supplier contacts, capabilities, lead times, pricing, and performance information.
Outside‑Processing Coordination
  • Coordinate work involving gun drilling, heat treatment, coating, EDM, grinding, saw cutting, and outside machining.
  • Make sure suppliers receive the correct parts, quantities, drawings, purchase orders, process requirements, and due dates.
  • Track parts moving between Lone Star and outside suppliers.
  • Coordinate pickups and deliveries with shipping and receiving.
  • Verify returned parts include the required packing slips, certifications, and processing documentation.
Documentation and Administrative Execution
  • Scan, name, organize, file, and retrieve work orders, travelers, purchase orders, packing slips, material certifications, and outside‑processing records.
  • Maintain accurate electronic and physical production files.
  • Help ensure received material is properly identified, documented, and traceable.
  • Assist with consignment‑material usage, replenishment, and monthly records.
  • Work with accounting to resolve purchase‑order, receiving, pricing, quantity, and invoice discrepancies.
  • Help standardize recurring processes and checklists so important tasks do not depend on memory.
What Success Looks Like
  • Work orders are accurate and complete before reaching the floor.
  • Material and outside processes are ordered early enough to support production dates.
  • Supplier commitments are documented and actively followed.
  • Missing information and late deliveries are identified before they become emergencies.
  • Production records are organized, current, and easy to retrieve.
  • Every important open item has a clear owner, next action, and committed completion date.
Required Qualifications
  • At least two years of experience in manufacturing operations support, production control, work‑order administration, purchasing coordination, planning, expediting, or a similar role.
  • Experience working with purchase orders, work orders, travelers, production packets, inventory records, or supplier commitments.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage numerous open items simultaneously.
  • Consistent follow‑through and willingness to verify that tasks are actually complete.
  • Comfortable communicating with vendors, production employees, managers, shipping personnel, and accounting.
  • Strong spreadsheet, email, document‑management, and business‑system skills.
  • Ability to recognize missing, conflicting, or incomplete information.
  • Professional written and verbal communication.
  • Willingness to work full‑time on‑site in Cypress, Texas.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in CNC machining, oilfield manufacturing, aerospace, defense, energy, fabrication, or another industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Experience coordinating raw material or outside manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with technical drawings, material certifications, heat and lot traceability, and revision‑controlled documentation.
  • Experience with ERP, MRP, QuickBooks Enterprise, or manufacturing work‑order systems.
  • Knowledge of Houston‑area industrial suppliers, processors, and machine shops.

A college degree is not required when the candidate has relevant manufacturing experience and a demonstrated history of dependable execution.
