Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing in Walker, MI is seeking a Manufacturing MRP Planner to forecast demand, manage suppliers for on-time delivery, and address supply disruptions. You’ll plan material receipts based on production schedules.

The role requires Plex Systems ERP experience, strong written and verbal communication, and 2+ years in material planning or related fields. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

  • Experience with Plex Systems ERP strongly preferred.
  • Automotive industry experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Computer literacy including MS Office (Excel) and ERP/MRP experience.

Responsibilities

  • Forecast demand planning and manage suppliers for on-time delivery.
  • Plan material receipts to meet forecasts while minimizing inventory.
  • Coordinate with warehouse and production teams to maintain flow.
  • Work cross-functionally with other departments to mitigate disruptions.
  • Review and maintain data accuracy in MRP/ERP systems.

They will plan material receipts to meet delivery expectations of forecasted and actual sales while minimizing inventory levels; Utilizing MRP systems to calculate exact quantities of raw materials required based on production schedules. This position will work one-on-one with suppliers to ensure no disruptions to Challenge manufacturing supply chain. The Manufacturing MRP Planner will work with suppliers on maintaining accurate subcontract material inventory and investigating all discrepancies.What You’ll Do:Participate with Material Requirement Planning improvements/implementation teamMonitor inventory levels against agreed target levelsEnsure integrity of Data EntryEstimate materials required for productionCoordinate activities with warehouse and production teamsCompile worksheets and specifications of ordersPrepare and maintain progress and other reportsReview long-term forecasts to identify and mitigate possible capacity/material issues and recommend appropriate actionEnsuring the consistent and adequate supply of materials necessary for productionTracking production volume and monitoring customer demand patterns and purchasing trendsParticipate in launch meetings to plan out activities in future time periodsPerform ongoing analysis of weekly, monthly and future capacity to optimize product level loading and achieve manufacturing continuity during low and high-volume months.Review demand and supply to understand bottleneck and propose alternative capacity or areas needing capacity improvement to meet demandParticipate in business planning meetings to plan out activities in future time periodsConstantly look for improvements and help implement solutions.
