Job summary

White Cap is seeking a seasoned Production Supervisor to oversee daily plant operations and lead a team toward meeting production standards and efficiency targets. You will coordinate with procurement, maintenance, planning, safety, and quality to optimize resources and outcomes.

Travel is expected 5%–20% and the role requires hands-on floor presence and strong communication with engineering to improve machines and processes for better product quality.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in a related discipline with 7+ years of experience.
• Experience in manufacturing/plant operations and production management.
• Certification may be required; advanced degree may offset less experience.

Responsibilities

• Directly supports plant manager in daily operations.
• Coordinate production activities with procurement, maintenance, planning, safety, and quality.
• Plan and direct production to meet standards and cost targets.
• Identify causes of non-conformity and implement corrective actions.
• Communicate changes in schedules and procedures across shifts.
• Collaborate with engineering to modify machines to improve quality.
• Revise production schedules as needed.
• Perform other duties as required.

Job Summary

Responsible for supervising, directing, and coordinating personnel activities concerned with production. Manages production technology, production methods and procedure, standards, and machine and equipment capabilities.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities And Key Accountabilities

• Directly supports the plant manager in all aspects of daily plant operations. Assume all duties and responsibilities of the acting plant manager when needed.
• Interacts with plant management to establish production and quality standards.
• Plans and directs production activities and priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors.
• Coordinates production activities along with procurement, maintenance, production planning, safety, and quality control activities to obtain optimal use of employee and equipment resources.
• Reviews and analyzes production to determine causes on non-conformity with production specifications and operating or production problems.
• Collaborates and effectively communicates with all appropriate parties, develops and implements methods and procedures to eliminate operations problems and improve product quality.
• Communicates and coordinates with engineering to modify machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products.
• Revises production schedule as necessary.
• Effectively communicates any changes in schedules, production, or procedure to all shifts and employees.
• Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned.

Nature and Scope

• Solutions require analysis and investigation.
• Achieves planned results by decisions and actions based on professional methods, business principles, and practical experience.
• Manages a group or team of professional individual contributors and/or indirectly supervises support staff.

Work Environment

• Typically located in a comfortable indoor area. There may be regular exposure to mild physical discomfort from factors, such as dust, fumes or odors, temperature extremes, loud noise, strong drafts, or bright lights.
• Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
• Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.

Education And Experience

• Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 7+ years of experience in a related field. May require certification. Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams), Zoom
• Comfort with being out on the floor with other employees 75% of the time or more
• Ability to build and develop relationships with colleagues in operations and management at the facility
