Job summary

Continental Carbonic Products, Matheson in Pekin, IL is seeking Maintenance Technicians to keep production equipment in safe, optimal condition and support uptime across the plant.

The role involves preventive maintenance, repairs from blueprints, machine adjustments, PLC monitoring, and assisting with installation of new equipment while adhering to Process Safety Management guidelines and maintaining tidy maintenance areas.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; a 2-year technical degree or related certifications are a plus.
• Minimum of 4 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing, preferably extrusion or compression with hydraulic/pneumatic equipment.
• Experience with hydraulics, screw compressors, electrical systems and PLC troubleshooting.
• Experience with robotics is a plus; ammonia refrigeration systems experience is a plus.
• Must be able to lift 30 pounds, climb stairs and ladders, and work in tight spaces around machinery.

Responsibilities

• Maintain production equipment in safe, optimal condition to protect employees and visitors.
• Monitor production and process equipment for proper operation.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs from blueprints, manuals, or vendor specs.
• Recognize and perform machine adjustments to manufacturing systems.
• Determine corrective actions from PLC displays or similar panels.
• Assist with installation, testing, and validation of new equipment.
• Follow Process Safety Management procedures and maintain records.
• Conduct continuous monitoring of process and production equipment.
• Oversee equipment changeovers as necessary.
• Notify management of potential equipment issues or abnormalities.
• Assist management in training employees on equipment use.
• Maintain organization of the Maintenance Repair Area and related workspaces.
• Assist coworkers with production tasks as requested.
