Job summary

MMI Engineered Solutions in Saline, MI is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair plastic injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment.

You will diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, read schematics, and keep PM schedules in IQMS while supporting lean initiatives and safety standards. This role requires 2–5 years of hands-on experience and a technical degree, with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of hands-on maintenance experience.
• Experience with injection molding equipment and auxiliary equipment.
• Associate's degree or technical school equivalent.
• Strong troubleshooting in hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic systems.
• Familiarity with robots and automation equipment is preferred.
• Proven ability to manage workload and complete tasks on time.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Job description

MMI Engineered Solutions is seeking a highly motivated Maintenance Technician to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of plastic injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment. You will play a key part in ensuring equipment runs efficiently while supporting lean manufacturing initiatives and maintaining safety standards.

Shift Schedule - Monday through Wednesday 6:00am-12:15pm and alternating Thursday/Friday or Saturday/Sunday 6:00am-6:15pm

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues in injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
• Dismantle machines for inspection, troubleshooting, and repair.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance in accordance with schedules.
• Read and interpret schematics to troubleshoot and repair complex systems.
• Respond quickly to maintenance issues during production with effective solutions.Update and maintain PM schedules within IQMS software.
• Support facility upkeep and lean manufacturing improvements.
• Ensure compliance with MIOSHA safety standards and company policies.
• Take part in cross-functional projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• 2–5 years hands‑on maintenance experience
• Demonstrated experience with injection molding equipment, assembly process and auxiliary equipment
• Associate's degree, Trade or Technical School Equivalent
• Strong background in troubleshooting hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic systems.
• Familiarity with robots and automation equipment is highly preferred.
• Proven ability to manage workload and complete tasks accurately and on time.
• Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, high‑demand manufacturing environment.

Work Environment & Expectations

• Manufacturing environment that may be hot, noisy, dirty.
• Substantial physical effort - extensive reaching, lifting, bending, standing for long periods of time
• High attention to detail and safety awareness is critical during repairs and machine operation.
