Position Title: Manufacturing Machine Operator - Night Shift

Location: Athens, GA

Description:

Our Manufacturing Machine Operator supports Mativ's Filtration Advanced Materials Business. This individual will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of machine lines, including setup, start-up, and effective use of line equipment, auxiliary equipment, tooling changes, monitoring and testing, and production reporting.

Shift hours: 7:45 pm to 8:00 am (night shift). Training will occur during day hours for the first few weeks.

Responsibilities:

1. Set up:

• Read and understand schedule, BOM, SOC.
• Perform all setup functions, including selecting proper tooling, installing tooling, and ensuring correct resin.

Start up:

• Position all controls to SOC; activate extruder and drives; test initial product.
• Make necessary adjustments; verify product is in spec.
• Package product according to instructions.
• Troubleshoot process; perform QC tests per SOC; validate process control.
• Store finished product as instructed.
• Accurately enter data into the data collection system.

Tooling:

• Identify tooling damage and wear.
• Clean and return used tooling to stock.

Safety:

• Follow accident reporting procedures.
• Maintain housekeeping in work area.
• Comply with OSHA and company safety requirements.
• Know location of MSDS, first aid supplies, fire extinguishers, exits.

Qualifications:

Preferred:

• Forklift qualified
• Understanding of data collection systems
• Mechanical background
• Proficiency with measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, rulers)
• Basic computer and mathematical skills

Position Demands:

• Work environment includes temperature variations, dust, fumes, and odors.
• Wearing PPE such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, as required.

Physical demands include lifting a minimum of 75 pounds, working 12-hour shifts, performing repetitive tasks, and various physical movements, sometimes in tight spaces. Must meet certification requirements for operating PIVs if applicable.
