Job summary

Kennametal Stellite Inc. in Rogers, AR is seeking a skilled Centerless Grinding Operator to set up and run automated grind lines, ensuring parts meet strict quality specifications.

You will read blueprints, measure raw materials, perform in-process audits, troubleshoot issues on centerless grinders and robot cells, and keep accurate paperwork. You’ll train new operators, perform routine maintenance, and maintain a clean, safe work area while following all procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience reading blueprints and inspecting parts to quality specs.
• Ability to set up and operate centerless grinding lines.
• Troubleshooting mechanical/electrical issues on grinders and robot cells.

Responsibilities

• Select an order based on priorities from area lead or supervisor.
• Measure raw materials before processing and hold parts to quality specifications with in-process audits.
• Follow procedures for running and checking grind lines to ensure proper operation.
• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot centerless grinders, infeed robot cell, and chamfer robot cell to maintain output and quality.
• Read and understand blueprints; identify and report nonconforming parts; document results in paperwork and MII system.
• Perform daily housekeeping and routine machine maintenance.
• Train new operators when required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by area lead or supervisor.

Centerless Grinding

Set up and operate an automated Grind line to produce quality products.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Select an order based on priorities provided by the area lead or supervisor.
• Measure raw materials before processing and then hold parts to quality specifications while performing in process audits during cycle runs.
• Follow established procedures for running and checking the grind lines to ensure all systems are operating correctly.
• Set up, operate, & troubleshoot moderate to complex problems on centerless grinders, infeed robot cell, and chamfer robot cell in an efficient timely manner to maintain output and produce parts to specifications.
• Read & understand blueprints and be able to resolve issues related to the quality specifications provided. Separate, identify & report nonconforming from good product and document accurately on the provided paperwork and in the MII reporting system.
• Perform daily housekeeping responsibilities and perform routine machine maintenance (CLI checklist).
• Be able to train new operators when required.
• Perform other job duties as assigned by area lead or supervisor.
