Job summary

Boar's Head Brand is seeking a Lead Person to run a specific area of production safely and efficiently, communicate daily schedules to operators, and uphold FIFO, GMPs and SOPs. The role requires proactive thinking, ability to train others, and to troubleshoot issues while supporting supervisors in achieving goals.

Ideal candidates will have leadership experience in manufacturing/food production, be able to work in a cold environment, and follow written and oral instructions.

Qualifications

• Experience leading in manufacturing/food production.
• Ability to work in cold, damp environments.
• Basic oral and written communication skills.
• Able to stand, reach, stoop, kneel or crouch and lift 50-75 pounds.
• Monday–Friday schedule with weekend needs based on production.
• Forklift/tow motor experience and familiarity with Oracle systems (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks as described and assigned by the department supervisor/manager.
• Operate and help maintain equipment within the assigned area.
• Report problems and make recommendations to enhance production efficiency.
• Train and develop other employees on the job.
• Assist Supervisor in recognizing problems and coaching staff for action.
• Follow GMPs, SOPs, safety rules, plant policies and conduct codes.
• Follow written and oral instructions.
• Verify order/invoices/manifests; complete cycle counts and inventory control.

Job Description

As Lead Person -tasked with running a specific area of production in an efficient and safe manner. Needs to understand the daily schedule and communicate the information to operators. Have an understanding of product rotation – first in first out concept. Ensures orders are processed in accordance with the Boar’s Head's customer service standards. Is also familiar with; standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a warehouse, distribution center, or meat processing facility. The successful candidate will also be able to think proactively, thrive under pressure, and assist the production supervisors in achieving departmental goals and production including the ability to train others and troubleshoot issues.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for performing tasks as described and assigned by the department supervisor/manager
• Responsible for operating and helping to maintaining equipment within their assigned area
• Assist with reporting problem situations and makes recommendations to Supervisor to enhance the efficiency of production
• Must work as a team player to assist with on-the-job training, and development of other employees
• Assists Supervisor in recognizing possible problems and coaches employees or makes recommendations to Supervisor for further actions
• Must follow Company’s GMP’s, SOP’s, Safety, Plant rules, other policies and codes of conduct
• Must be able to follow written and oral instructions
• Verify accuracy of order/invoices/manifests, complete cycle counts and inventory control procedures to ensure accurate record keeping and product control
• Strive to satisfy the requirements of both internal and external customers

• Ability to lift and move 50-75 pounds (with assistance, when required)
• Available to work a Monday - Friday schedule, with weekend work dictated by production needs
• Fork-lift/tow motor experience
• Experience with Oracle systems preferred
